hello!! how are you? so i’ve been really into greek mythology for a quite long time, i’ve been learning and now i’ve been really wanting to start worshipping the gods. i really wanna find my patron or patroness, and i was wondering if Sappho could help me! maybe giving some hint? i haven’t quite figured out how it works yet but i’ve been reading! if you are okay with it and if it’s okay for me to ask, maybe three lines? if not thank you so much! i’m sorry for such a long ask!!
G’day! You’ll find a lot of people were once mythology fans before they discovered the religions still exists and is still practiced. You’re among good company lol
And no stress, any question is fine!
A vine that grows up trees (173)
The sweet apple reddens on a high branch, high upon highest, missed by the applepickers: No, they didn’t miss, so much as couldn’t touch (105a)
It looks like you may find what you’re looking for in the pastoral or khthonic (in this case, earthen) gods. This would include gods like Demeter, Dionysus, Hermes, various nymphs, Aristaeus, and Pan. Among many, many others.
While I did specifically ask the dice for a direction for you, the first two lines could also indicate how new you are. Imo you don’t need to finding a ‘patron’ god immediately. Start with what you enjoy, what already interests you - if that is a particular god, they don’t have to be your ‘patron.’
It really is kinda fuck around and find out (respectfully). There’s much more I could say but I’m a reconstructionist and you’re new so for now - just enjoy learning.
