//guys give me your thoughts on this awesome NPC.... I wanna make an oc based on her... Should I make an oc off of her?
//wait actually how do I make more than 5 blogs....
//okay like... I'm not one to talk about it but can we STOP harassing Opera and Fuji's rp blogs? Like oh my god. Don't like the ship they're doing? Who carees make your own Opera rp blog and ship it with Doto.
They're really not doing anything bad, besides Opera and Fuji aren't even blood related irl so it's not that weird of a ship. Not my highest but not one worth the harassment 😭
admin do we fw this hc
* During her prime, Stay Gold was MUCH more unhinged/temperamental/mean (like her irl counterpart), obviously earning her the nickname “Terrorist of the Racecourse” (due to her zigzag running pattern). In her prime she still of course had her wanderlust, which is why she competed in primarily International G1/G2s (see: her victories in the Hong Kong Vase and Dubai Sheema Classic), but was actually quite cocky/arrogant and had a mean streak.
> * Stay Gold did eventually mellow out, but that was after she graduated to the Dream Series, dated Oriental Art/Dear Wink/Point Flag (who really sealed the deal for Stego becoming more chill)/De La Roche, and started traveling the world.

//This is amazing tbh I have my own ideas too.
I like to think that yes he was extremely violent and temperamental but that would only show if he was imposed rules because he didn't talk with many people to begin with. He never really gave it his all because he ran to find a meaning in running, a meaning in the journey. So that's why he still travels.
He became a little more chill during the years but his temperament obviously remained (like the many stories of Stay Gold biting and kicking everyone in the stable) and he ran in G1s because that's where the most unhinged Umas raced, and he used to ask them "what makes you run" even if in the middle of a race.
His wins in the world stage came as suprise to him too, because he couldn't slow down or control his pace like he did before and ended up first. This could also go to the incident you mentioned (?) where he ran in zig zag, making Narita top road fall and startle TM Opera O many time. Though I don't think he'd say sorry willingly, maybe he was forced lol because his jockey would have to regularly apologize to TM opera's for Stay Gold's behaviour.
If we look at who he used to race with, I'm inclined to believe he somehow always ended up with someone who was also sired by Sunday Silence. In his era it was him and Suzuka (Fukukitaru came from a less than impressive pedigree), in the golden age there was Special week, in the generation of high kings there was Admire Vega, and in his last era there was Air Shakur (even If he raced more with Digital as far as I'm aware.)
^Agnes digital on the left, Stay Gold on the right.
One little detail that I LOVE is how in a race when Silence Suzuka entered the gate every other horse started freaking out like they knew he'd win. Stay gold instead just stood there unfazed. And it is represented in the game as him and Suzuka to be really good friends to the point Stay Gold even comforted Suzuka when she began to cry in his support card event. Not to forget how he's also friendly with Matikanefukukitaru, since they had raced often together.
I feel like the way he got 'calmer' is a mix between seeing all of his acquaintances go away due to injury or to move on from racing when he wasn't done yet and how he knew he still hadn't found a reason to run. And the fact he is so carefree would make it look like a year just goes by in an instant.
Then, last little detail I promise... In game I'm absolutely head over heels for they way all of the gold clan kids listen to him immediately. In his 2nd support card event the gold kids are fighting over how a hypothetical bus to travel with should look, and they even take it outside to play poker to choose between their opinions. Then Stay Gold appears and is like 'what's happening' and for everyone to calm down immediately. Yk how Dream Journey is supposed to be cunning and always scheming? He says 'sorry Anego, we were having a little.... Disagreement.'
After he is explain why they were fighting, Stay Gold gives his own opinion and everyone just agrees???
There is two options to ask him. Either 'Are you feared?' to which Stay Gold replied 'i don't think I've done anything to be feared. Right?' cue to his kids shifting nervously but not saying anything.
Or option two, 'Are you loved?' where he says 'loved? Can't say I ever felt that way before.' WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢 You could interpret it as him having seen everyone come and go in his life (which is probably why him being with all four of his irl breeding mares because he's unfaithful would be possible in umamusume. He is not used to commitment.) Dream journey tells him 'well as for us we certainly rely on you Anego.' Orfevre tells him they need to discuss something (which means Orfevre trusts Stay Gold) and Gold ship screams at Orfevre saying that Stay Gold needs to come with him to eat his new food invention. So it's funny to see that the eldest brothers (Journey and Festa) somehow genuinely respect him and love him, and the younger ones (Oru, golshi, meno) seem to fight for his attention😭😭😭😢😢😢
THANK YOU ANON FOR ASKING I LOVE TALKING ABOUT STAY GOLD!!!
Edit- I forgot to mention that the fact he is "the leader" of the gold clan is probably derived by the fact that in irl he was basically the ring leader of the horses in one stable as said by Ikee, Journey's trainer. He said "Journey doesn't seem to know that though." I don't know why this comment was made but maybe it's because Stay Gold would sometimes rub his head on the stable staff (especially the trainer and his assistant) if he was feeling happy and that would leave his scent on the trainer, which Journey didn't seem to notice.
//I'm seeing a lot more rp blogs popping up recently, I'm really glad because now we have even more people to interact with and different characters! I mean I just hope nothing bad happens like it would on twitter tbh😭
//can someone give me luck.... I'm 90 pulls in and Stego still won't come home...
//OOC
If there won't be any Dream journey and Nakayama festa ro blogs soon I'll just make them myself...
