FMAU + LE CABINET D'ARCHITECTURE
Concours réalisé avec l'agence FMAU (http://www.fmau.fr/). On a gagné la satisfaction d'avoir esquissé un projet riche de sens, ce qui est déjà pas mal ;)
The project is settled on the valley. A pure white volume. How to introduce a modernism notion preverving an existantial culture ? It’s the ambivalence.
The project is a message. A noble and humble dimension.
The building consists of a simple rectangle covered with white thick fabricks. The is volume is monumental and evanescent at the same time. It differenciate itself in the landscape.
From a distant vision, the project keeps its simple architectural writing and from a closer vision, the thick curtains let discovering the cultural center interior architecture. Fabrics in movement contrast with the rocky atmosphere fixed in the ground.
Behind clothes, the architecture of a village appears.
Built and massive. Volumes in baked bricks are creating a process between outdoor and indoor spaces : courtyards, gardens, big arched hall. The path is a progression to all different program units.
The steel structure (factory in kabul) support equipements for energtic independance. Electricity production with photovoltaic panels, water tanks, hot water and heat production. The roof protects at the same time all the cultural center from bad weather via technical packages : rain, snow, strong heat, sunshine.
The architecture has as context the site and the volume of each body entering. The project has the ambition to offer a public space
for the community with water and heat services.Watertaps and a common chimney take place in the front of the building on the side of the public space.
Walls are clothes and thick walls
The ceiling is the sky and a concrete surface. The site is a geography and my home. The access is a small arch and a rise to valley. The building is a city and a house for everyone.
My neighborhood is the view to the cliff opened to the world and my friends who i work with everyday.
Entering in this agglomeration is to accept texts with context, to accept complexity of human beings relations and complexity of architecture has to partition, seperate or unite these relations.
