Mental Health Checkup
Yippee!! My first fanfic!!!! Please go easy on me y’all. It’s my first time writing so bear with me.
Yonny sat in his lab, surrounded by the usual assortment of medical equipment. It was another successful day of looking for sparklium for the ship and rescuing and healing castaways. He smiled at the thought of being halfway there to rescuing Captain Olimar.
Approaching footsteps interrupted his thoughts. He looks up and sees Dingo walking in, bringing along a look of depression on his face. “Hey Yon,” he muttered. Yonny looks up, noticing Dingo's demeanor. He frowns, clearly concerned. “Hey there, everything alright?" He asks him. “I dunno Yon, everything I do, the rookie does better.” The ranger complains. Yonny sighs, feeling for him. "Ah, I see. Feeling a little overshadowed by the new blood, huh?” Dingo grumbled in approval.“Why are they getting all the respect when I should be up there with them?” He asked. Yonny shrugs. He clearly understands where Dingo is coming from. They have known each other since they were kids after all. "It's hard when someone new shows up and starts taking the spotlight. But just because the new blood is doing well doesn't mean you're not good too. You're still our reliable Lone Wolf, remember?" Dingo lightly chuckles at the name. “I know…” There’s a long pause of silence until an idea struck the doctor.
He grinned playfully. “Yon, what are you up to?” Dingo asks suspiciously. “Ehehehe that reminds me, as long as you’re here, I would like to do a mental health checkup on you.” “Mental health checkup? Yon, y’know I don’t need one.” Dingo protested. “No buts!” Said the doctor, whose grin was as big as a cheshire cat’s. “It’s now a requirement. Now, keep your arms out as if you’re in t position. I promise I won’t bite.” Dingo groaned and skeptically complied, preparing for the worst. Yonny began to gently feel around, his arms and ribcage which causes Dingo to stiffen up. Yonny grinned, this was gonna be fun.
Yonny, ready to cause chaos, dug his fingers into Dingo’s ribs. “SNRK!” Yonny's eyebrows raised in surprise as he heard Dingo involuntarily react. His grin grew wider. “Well, well, what's this? Is the tough, lone wolf ticklish?" He asked innocently. “W-what? No! That’s stupid!” Yonny laughs, the sly smiler growing wider by the minute. "Oh, come now, you can't fool me. I can tell when someone's ticklish. And you, my childhood friend, are very, very ticklish." “No I’m not! That w-was a particularly sensitive spot!” Dingo tries to lie but Yonny, grinning widely, already sees through it. Yonny knew right away the difference between a sensitive spot and a ticklish one. He kept going. “Oh, I see. A 'painful spot,' huh? Let me take a closer look." He gently resumes feeling around Dingo's ribcage, deliberately touching the spot that had triggered the reaction before.
Dingo’s breath hitched. He felt like a balloon about to burst. Why did Yonny have to be such a menace? His fingers gently drummed the area, which to Dingo felt like torture. Yonny's grin widens even more at Dingo's reaction. He could the poor ranger was struggling to hold back laughter, and it was just too tempting not to keep going. “You know, it's okay to admit it. I won't judge you. Just admit you're ticklish. Go on." He says, keeping up the gentle, tormenting drum of his fingers across the ticklish area. “Pfft N-nope. N-not. *snicker* ticklish!” Dingo protested. “Are you sure?” Yonny giggles.
Yonny knew Dingo couldn’t hold it in. So instead his fingers creeped their way into the hollows of Dingo’s bare underarms. His underarms were the number 1 ticklish spot on him. Yonny laughs victoriously as Dingo finally lets loose a burst of uncontrollable laughter. The sound of it only encourages him to keep going. He moves back to his ribs, increasing the speed and pressure of the drum of his fingers against Dingo's ribs, intent on getting more giggles out of him. "Yep, you're still ticklish!" “STAHP! STAHAHAHAP!!” Dingo begged his childhood friend. Yonny laughs again at Dingo's pleading. He loves seeing his friend squirm and giggle like this, and he's not about to stop just yet. "Oh, come on! Is the big, tough Lone Wolf really begging me to stop? That doesn't seem like the strong, cocky you I know." He teases as he continues tickling, paying special attention to the most sensitive areas on Dingo's ribcage. Dingo howled wildly with laughter as Yonny gently tickled. Yonny chuckles and smiles widely at the sound of Dingo's howling laughter. He loves the way his friend's stoic facade melts away when he's being tickled, and it only makes him want to continue even more. "Oh, you're so cute like this, all giggly and helpless. Who knew the ranger of the Rescue Corps had such a vulnerable side?" He says, moving his fingers down to the more sensitive spots on Dingo's sides. Dingo shrieked and stamped his foot. The tickling and Yonny’s teasing became downright unbearable for him. Yonny’s fingers were light like feathers. “YON!!” Dingo pleaded as he tried to pry Yonny’s hands away from his ribs. “Poor Dingo, I’m barely touching you and yet this drives you crazy!” “NOHOHOHOHO YON! IT TIHIHICKLES TOO MUHUHUHUCH!!!”
After what seemed like a good five minutes. Yonny finally lets up, leaving a very exhausted Dingo to collapse. “And we’re done! Now that wasn’t so bad huh?” Yonny chuckled. “I… *huff* you are *exhale* the worst!” “Aw, I try.” The doctor chirped happily. When Dingo was able to find the strength to stand, he looked at the cheeky doctor with an embarrassed stare. Yonny could only laugh. “Well, laughter is the best medicine after all.” “Shut up…” Dingo grumbled as he embarrassingly left the lab. “Let me know if you need another health checkup!” Said Yonny, causing Dingo to blush furiously. Yonny chuckled in response and eagerly went back to his work.
As Dingo left the lab. He carefully processed of what went down. He found himself smiling. Maybe he needed that checkup after all.
To Be Continued…?
