Here's who I write for
It was an unspoken rule that if players had to share rooms then Hayden and Shane would room together, everyone knew this. They even joked about them being so close that they might as well share a bed, though Shane made sure not to let Ilya hear that one. Hayden understood Shane better than he knew, he even knew that Shane appreciated him treating him like he would everyone else with minor adjustments for his autism. Hayden had been side eyeing Shane for the last 3 hours, his semi constant fidgeting, chewing on his hoodie string, constantly checking his phone.
"Ok, dude, what is going on? You're acting like someone is dying in the hospital and you're waiting for news... That's not actually happening is it?" Shane turned to Hayden with the most confused look he'd ever seen.
"What? No, no one's dying. What are you talking about?" Hayden exhaled heavily, obviously calmed by the fact that nothing bad was happening.
"Ok, that's good. So, what's wrong then? Why are you so antsy?" Shane shrugged, sitting next to Hayden on the bed.
"I don't know, sometimes I just get these moods where I can't relax. No big deal, it'll pass." Hayden nodded slowly, humming in thought which Shane took as him processing the information. In reality, Hayden was creating a plan, weighing his options.
"Want a distraction? Y'know, to help you relax." He asked, bumping their shoulders together. Shane sat for a few seconds, considering it before nodding.
"I have this idea, I do this to my daughters when they have too much energy and need to chill out. Turn your back to me." Shane gave him a weird look before turning, letting Hayden wrap his arms around his middle, effectively hugging him from behind.
"You just gonna trap me like this until I inevitably calm down?" Shane scoffs, faking trying to escape, making Hayden chuckle a bit.
"Nah, imma do this!" That was the only warning Shane got before Hayden dug his middle and ring fingers into his ribs. A very uncharacteristic squeal bursts from Shane's lips as he practically falls back into Hayden's chest.
"DUHUHUHUDE! WHAHAHAT AHAHARE YOHOHOU DOHOHOING?!" His head shakes frantically, his black hair flying all out of place.
"Wow, you're way more ticklish than I was anticipating!" Hayden chortles, watching Shane's phone light up again.
"Maybe we should take a video and send it to Boston Lily~"
"DOHOHON'T YOHOHOU DAHAHARE!" Hayden let's out an amused scoff, not even slightly shocked by the immediate blush on Shane's face.
"Dude, you look like you're gonna explode." He chuckled as Shane slid down into his lap, he haphazardly pushed at Hayden's hands, mainly trying to cover himself. Hayden groaned dramatically at the sound of Shane's ringtone, his mom was calling.
"Mommy dearest has come to save you." He joked giving Shane a few pats on his stomach as he relented, ruffling his hair for good measure. Shane didn't see the satisfied smile on Hayden's face when he noticed that Shane's shoulders had dropped and that he was significantly more relaxed more. Success!
