how is your time at the con going?
Great! I’m here with my best friend just soaking up all the energy. Even though there are hundreds of people here, I feel much more comfortable than I anticipated. Pittsburgh is a very masked-up city, even outdoors walking down the street, which does wonders for the pandemic anxiety. Indoors, there’s less going on here than I’m used to at the Creation cons, which is a neutral statement; fewer con activities just means more time for seeing the city. I’m not nearly as exhausted now at the end of the day like I usually am on a con Saturday, and we’ve gotten to wander downtown and order food and take photos and relax in the hotel room. It feels very much like an actual vacation and I’m enjoying it.

Anybody else heading to Momento Con in Pittsburgh on Labor Day weekend? This thing is cheap as shit compared to the Creation SPN cons - a GA pass is $40. For the whole weekend. Get a seat in the preferred section for $20 more. For the whole weekend. Treat yourself with VIP seating and extras for $300. For the whole weekend. (Creation wants even more than that just for GA, y’all. Parking might cost $30 a day in the Steel City but still.)
Yeah, J2 won’t be there, but a whole host of absolutely delightful others will be! And granted, it’s a fledgling convention that may need to work out some of the kinks, but still, the pricetag for getting to see longtime favorites like Misha, Rob, Rich, Mark, Ruthie, Osric, etc... more than worth it, IMO.
Let me know if you’ll be there so we can say hi and grab a coffee(/tea/ice cream/taco)!
