IT MUST BE NICE… TO HAVE SOMEONE
– sakura matou ( @leftribbon )
She doesn't know why she's here, in all honesty. But she's standing at the edge of the lake, paper raft in hand as others around her pay their respects to those that they've lost. Rin has never been one for sentiment, at least not openly like this but it's hard to quit now when she's already so far in that it'd be a waste otherwise. Slowly, she crouches down at water's edge and pushes the raft forward and watches it intermingles and is fully out of sight, unable to be told apart from all the others. There's a sigh, chin in hand before she stands and takes in the sight. What she doesn't expect, however, is the familiar visage of Sakura, who stands not too far from her. "So you're here, too." Is all Rin can manage to say that won't make things totally awkward.
"Paying your respects to someone? Or are you just here for the view?"

The only noise emitted was the sharp exhale of breath as he saw her. Grown, now, and an Alraune but her nonetheless. It pained him to see the same dulled look in her eyes as she glanced in the direction he was standing - although it made sense she had not been saved, since there would be nobody left to save her.Â
“Sakura Matoi, yes?” His head tilted to one side, a past tick from his life unable to speak. Straightening back up, he coughed lightly.
“Forgive me, it must be strange for a strange man to suddenly know your name. In a place such as this no less, and with your appearance altered so...” Fading off, he bowed slightly, elf ears showing as his hair shifted. “Apologies. I am...Ah, well, it’s a lot to explain. And I would prefer not to take your time if you do not wish to give it. Nonetheless, as evening wears on, you should be sure to take shelter.”

“Whatever she has planned to prepare is none of your business. If you wish to eat, there's a fast food restaurant within walking distance — wouldn’t that be much faster anyway?”
The hair on her back of her neck stood up to observe the sight; the girl with groceries happened upon by a circle of young men and women like a pack circling its prey. They were domineering, exerting pressure about wanting her to tag along with them, cook for them as she’d ingredient prepared, and the girls quipping about making her over to be like them. The mere appearance of the scene was alarming, let alone being caught up in the middle of it. She had intervened, standing between the ribboned girl and the hounds, manifesting Lord Camelot as means of asserting herself more defiantly, lest they attempt to resume upon them both. The message seemingly doing its job warding them off, but to play another hand, fingers stretched out towards the girl, a friendly smile shining above. “I was wondering what kept you. When you didn’t show up, I thought maybe you’d gotten distracted by something on your way home. We better hurry before mother gets worried as well”.
For many months, she’d been here.
For many months, she’d been here with barely any mention of the last time she remembered being in an era such as this, nights in Japan spent under a cruel family fighting for a goal that seemed too altruistic for these merciless men. And too long since she’d seen the girl that she answered the call of...the only one she cared about in this terrible mess of a clan.
It’d been so long--long enough that she’d try to remember things, and her brain fell short. She worried for the girl. Rider was beginning to realize at some point their contract dissolved somewhat naturally. She remembered that family, however, and while she knew Sakura freed her of her own free will...she’d seen all too much.Â
She’d dropped everything she was doing in the star trail when she saw it--the familiar ribbon tied against a familiar head of violet. (She knew there were others in this city that held an appearance such as this but...she believed this one was the right one.) Nothing else mattered. Everything else could wait. She waited long enough.
“Sakura! ...You’re here.... I’m glad you’re safe.” There were so many words to say, but not enough time being used to talking of her emotions freely to let them spill out eloquently. She simply hoped whatever she was feeling was felt strongly enough in her body language, in the shape of her smile and the way Rider was sure her own eyes wavered with the threat of moisture.Â

Last time she saw that ribbon she could remember the pain of watching her leave with Byakuya. Her eyes and hair were of a different hue, but she could tell it was Sakura, her youngest daughter. Tears were flowing from her eyes as she took a few steps towards her. “Sakura..” she spoke, her voice softening. Her daughter was nearly her height now, her hands shaking as she reached out to take her hands. “My baby girl.” she spoke, holding back her emotions,Â
