IT’S A FACE SHE NEVER WOULD HAVE EXPECTED TO SEE IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHTOWN, LET ALONE THE MIDDLE OF HER GALLERY -------------- a joining of PAST AND PRESENT that she’s not entirely ready for. she’s not exactly prepared for all the QUESTIONS he probably has for her, either; she knows the minute she asks him what he’s doing here, he can turn the question back at her with as much VENOM as he likes. she deserves it.

he knows what she does, knows there’s going to be those missing weeks and months at a time where it’s as if she’s fallen off the face of the earth -------- but before this, she’s always come back. this time it’s not so easy. so even with the momentary SPARK of adrenaline that comes with seeing a familiar face in a new setting, the knot in her gut reminds her to enjoy it while it lasts. (  she’s figuring on the amount of time it takes for her to wind her way through the late - night crowd over to him and lean in.   )

           The night was dark, shadows slipped around corners, one of them being a silent bird - ironic when you knew it was the loudest one probably in the whole world. Landing perfectly on boots, eyes wandered around until screams & gun fires resounded around the area. 

A fast run in the direction of said noise. ( nobody gets killed on my watch ). Instantly she regretted the earlier pies she ate for dinner - Helena wasn’t wrong about being slow, but damn. Those were good American food. She had missed it so much from her year in Asia. 

When reaching for the incident from the roof, Dinah climbed down fire escape, blue deep eyes watching the crime scene before them. A suffocating breath, as scarlet body remained inanimate on the ground. A quick jump, perfect landing one more time in the center. The blonde stood up in the middle, & looked back at the confused man staring at her ; a cape & a face that couldn’t have harmed if it had wanted too. ( odd ). One of the nice ones, in some scandal already ?

His lips released those feared words. An accident, he said.  Dinah’s expression reflected the many questions crossing her mind in this moment. Without a second she knelt down & placed a careful pair of fingers on the jugular’s man laying on the floor. 

“ He’s breathing...”     Canary stated with a sigh of relief as well, shoulders relaxed in the back. Although, she had a bunch of questions now, time to play detective Lance,      “ What happened exactly ? Don’t try to lie, not gonna work. Spill the truth, & everything should be okay. ”
