                louise knew what it was like to feel loved, but not liked by her parents. love was something that came with the title of being ones kin, but when louise was a child - it became apparent to her that while she would always be loved, they didn’t have to like who she was. wouldn’t stand by her when she slipped up, needed to have someone in her corner. there wasn’t much that she had in common with ted. the girl was abrasive, hot headed and strong. she thinks that it was something that ted had inherited from her father. 

                in louise’s younger years, it was something she admired about kerry. he wouldn’t stand for any shit, punch out anyone who gave him a hard time. that wasn’t anything louise had been able to do her entire life, she had always been withheld and composed. but it turns out acting out like that got kerry into more shit than it ever did him good.  louise didn’t like all the fighting that ted could get herself into, but she just wanted her to be safe. didn’t want to see her make the same mistakes that her father did before her, or, end up worse.  

                “ --- you should know that i like you,  ted.  you are so loved...   i only want what’s best for you. ”

@legacynes​:  loved you at your worst but that didn’t matter. 

                    for a long while, kerry did what he could to push the rest of his family away. despite what anyone says, he loves his kids, more than he’s ever loved anything in his life. it was the reason why he left louise, why he let her have the kids, why he let her have that fucking place in japan — because kerry was tired. he was a shit example for his kids, he knew it, louise was more than happy to remind him of that whenever she had the chance, and he didn’t want to continue to fight to have a relationship for them when all he could ever do was let them down over and over again. it would be better for them to just stay with their mum, forget kerry was their father and move on with their lives. 

                    but, apparently, they were stubborn - kim especially. no matter how hard he tries, she wouldn’t let him die. she reminds him of louise, at times, because of it. it felt like for the majority of the time he had been married to that woman she was holding him up to keep him on his feet, up until the moment the resentment of all of that gave way and she left. he wonders how long it’ll take before kim does the same.

            he’d been looking forward to the lunch plans he made with her today. it never feels like it’s been that long since he last saw her, but every time that he sees her so much has changed. it was nerve wracking, he didn’t want to fuck up the times that she decides to visit — so he may have had a few extra drinks last night, and that might have lead to him hitting the snooze button one too many times this morning, which caused kim to find him still asleep in his bed by the time she figured to go to his villa instead of their arranged meeting place. 

                “ --- shit. ”   he mumbles, sitting up in the bed and trying to ignore the neasous sensation that followed. “ fuck, kim, just -- look, just give me ten minutes, just gotta... get up. ”  and sober up, but he was foolishly hoping that she somehow failed to pick up on the fact that he was still kind of drunk.
