The Ur-Leica, Oskar Barnack‘s prototype 35mm camera for the Leica range of viewfinder camera’s, in 1932 further developed into the range of Leitz's famous Leica (Leitz Camera) 39mm screw mount rangefinder cameras.

The name Nikon, which dates from 1946, was originally intended only for its small-camera line, spelled as "Nikkon", with an addition of the "n" to the "Nikko" brand name. The similarity to the Carl Zeiss AG brand logotype,caused some early problems in Germany as Zeiss complained that Nikon violated its trademarked camera.

Leica 0-series - This Leica special edition Oskar Barnack 1879-2004 Jubilee Edition Set marks the 125th birthday of the designer of the first 35mm Leica camera. In homage to the inventor of the 35mm system, the set comprises the true-to-detail new edition of a historic camera type, the LEICA 0 series 'Prototype 2', which Oskar Barnack developed as a second camera after the 'Ur Leica' and tested in practice.
