Lenten Plans
I want to have a more clear plan for Lent this year, so I'm just recording my personal goals and fasting plan for the season.
Food Related:
- Fasting on Ash Wednesday and every Friday (one normal size meal, two small meals that do not equal a whole). On fasting days I will I abstain from meat, egg, dairy, and added sugars or added sweetners.
- This bullet previously stated that I would abstain from meat the entire season, but looking at my finances and freezer, this will not be the case. I will still abstain from meat on my fasting days, but otherwise will allow myself to eat meat during my dinners.
- Focus on ensuring that the foods I eat are ethically farmed in a sustainable way.
Lenten Sacrifices:
- Give something away every day, either donate money to a charity/gofundme or donate an item in my house that could benefit someone besides myself.
- I will abstain from tabaco products, beer, and hard liquor during Lent.
Lenten Prayers:
- Evening Ignatian Examen, in addition to daily prayers
- A devotational of my choice (probably the queer 40 day devotational)
