Boobies, Cold Water & Sharks!
My second stop on the snorkeling tour was at Kicker Rock. We did a full circle around the island and managed to spot a couple of Boobies...
The Blue Footed Booby has bright blue feet, hence their name. During mating season they ritually strut their blue feet up and down one at a time before the female. The males with the brightest feet gets the girl. Both sexes think brighter is better so they select their parental mates accordingly.
I'm not gonna lie...the water here is cold. Even with a wetsuit it was hard and supposedly this time of the year it's warmer! The thought of getting back in the water was tough to imagine but I was told this opening was a popular spot for sharks and rays so I hopped right in!
I was nervous to take the camera so I don't have shots of the sea life but yes...there were sharks! Just about 20+ Galapagos Sharks near ten meters below circled us. A huge Manta Ray made an appearance a couple of times and a few star fish were seen as well. It was incredible!!!
