Yes I'm making this you have me ob-fucking-sessed
Deceit walked quietly down the sidewalk. It was night, if he looked up he figured he might even be able to see a couple of stars, despite the general shitty air of the city that often made it impossible. This particular part of the city was only lit up by the occasional lamppost. The shops and stores were closed, lights off the people who ran them were likely at home. Not many people chose to live here, it was more run down and filled with creatures humans didn’t find particularly exciting at night.
It was dark, and Deceit had just finished with a meal. He hadn’t even been prepared for a meal so late at night, figuring he would have gone home and have a blood bag the next day. He wiped the blood from his mouth and chin with a handkerchief.
Blood bags tasted fine, mind you, and were what he usually had for meals. But he’d been having a stressful day to say the least and the human was volunteering. Nevertheless, it was dark and he was walking home. It was a bit off from the city, where it faded into a rural area. He did have a car parked a couple blocks away, his only purpose come here was only for a walk and nothing more.
There was the faint sound of whimpers and sobs from a nearby alley. He paused, sniffing the air and only finding the overwhelming stench of blood. It was enough to make him curious as he headed towards the source of the sound. At the mouth of the alley, he found someone curled up in the back corner of the dead end. Someone else standing over them, a bit freaked out by the looks of it as they waved their arms frantically and occasionally grabbed their head in a panic.
He made his presence known by accidentally kicking a rock on the ground. The person turned, cursed, and ran. A vampire - judging by the speed. Blood covered most of the wall and pooled on the ground by where he had been. The other person, crying on the floor, was in the center of it.
He debated chasing the vampire, but decided against the effort and walked over to the crying figure. The smell of blood was strong and almost sickening. If he’d been hungrier he might have gone mad. Fortunately, he’d already had a meal that night.
Despite having wished not to make a mess out of his clothes, he found himself crouching in the blood in front of them. The person sobbed, curling up tighter. Stammering out pleas and begging not to be harmed. Deceit felt a small pull to protect the poor man.
“I won’t hurt you,” He says, he tugged gently at the other’s arms, moving them away from their place covering the person’s face. A couple more insistent tugs left him looking into the brilliantly honey colored eyes of the stranger. Tears continued to pull over.
“I- I- I don’t know what happened,” He cried, “The guy said he was hungry and just wanted a little bit. I- I told him to stop-” He dissolved into sobs again. Deceit carded his fingers through the human’s hair, noting the bitemarks on his neck. Scabbed over, he wondered how the human could have bled so much and not have died.
He got his answer when the bite marks began to close up rather quickly. Freshly turned, a feeding gone absolutely, terribly wrong. The man continued to sob, and Deceit sighed, resting his knees fully into the blood to lean over and pull the poor new vampire into his arms. He wasn’t sure what possessed him to. He could’ve just left - instead, he was now covered in blood with a fresh turned crying in his arms. It’d be a bitch to clean and it wasn’t like he could help him anyways.
Unless... Deceit sighed, feeling resolve curl in his mind and tighten. He almost fought against the idea, but he knew he would have lost to himself. There was no way he could leave him here. “Why don’t I take you to my home? I’ll clean you up and help you out.”
“W-What-” The man sobs out, but it’s clear he can’t really speak.
“Do you have a name?” Deceit asks instead of a real answer, and the man thinks just for a second.
“L- Leon,” The man- Leon, sobs out, and Deceit holds him a bit tighter before adjusting his arms and standing. Leon firmly secured in his arms, he began to make his way to the car. There was far to much blood, and he already knew he’d take forever to clean it all up.
He sighed, looking at the quickly falling asleep mid-cry vampire, and knew that he was absolutely going to regret this. A couple of blocks of walking, he opened his door and laid Leon down in the backseat. Then, after a bit of thought, pulled his coat off and laid it over the other vampire. Then he went back to the alley, just to make sure nothing else was there.
He found a pair of glasses - thankfully unbroken and a wallet. It was bloodied and he wasn’t sure anything in it survived but he took it regardless. Placing both in the passenger seat and getting in to the other side. Glancing at the sleeping vampire across the back seat, he sighed in resignation to his fate - curses his ability to care - and drove home.
