I'm connected, somehow, so I'm gonna make the most of it while I can!
"What are you, Jonathan? Five?"
Damian stands there, arms crossed over his chest. The position of his arms tugs at his coat and the layers under it, but it keeps him warm.
"Just c'm'ere, you." Jon, currently 20, not 5, keeps laying on the snow, in the process of making a snow angel.
"No. Come lay down with me."
"You are soaking your clothes."
"That's a fun part too. Later shaking in wet clothes. Come on."
"Easy for you to say, you don't feel cold." Damian hisses.
"Quit whining and come here. I'm not getting up until you do." Jon informs.
"I am leaving you here." Damian warns, but sounds weak to his own ears.
Damian stares down at Jon, Jon stares up at Damian. Damian squints at him as his eyebrows narrow. Jon blinks at him stubbornly. Damian sighs like a 50-year-old widow who got divorced seven times in her life and sits down next to Jon, looking at the sky, asking for patience. His expression says the things I do for you.
He sighs again like he can't believe he gave in. Then, reluctantly, looking like it physically pains him, he lays down. Jon grins at him mischievously.
"I do hope you know that I loathe you for this."
"Now move your arms and legs—"
"I WILL REMOVE YOUR EXISTENCE—"
This was a fun little dabble I wrote like two months ago? I had the idea for a looong time. I like these two hanging out outside in the middle of the night in snow, idk why I love the idea of that so much. Also I haven't seen snow in like, three years now, jesus. That's a long time. Anyways, Damian told Jon about how he never did any of the games you do as kids when it snows when he was young after seeing a few kids making snowmen and throwing snowballs and Jon couldn't have that.
But that's kinda not possible for Dick to not introduce Damian to every game possible when he comes to live with them so how about we don't think about a background for this!
It's so wholesome thinking about these two out in the snow at 2:00 in the morning, making a snowman then proceeding to argue about it because Damian's a perfectionist and Jon's “Dude it's a snowman they're supposed to look weird!”
30 minutes later Damian is making little cats out of snowballs and Jon is fascinated.
