Alaskan Hare (Lepus othus)
Also sometimes known as the Tundra Hare, the Alaskan hare is a species of hare (Leporidae) which is native to the open tundra of western Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula. They are typically observed in upland tundra or in rocky or bushy areas of cover. Alaskan hares are mostly solitary animals, only congregating in groups during the mating season in April and May. Like most lagomorphs, Alaskan hare are herbivores, eating a variety of plant matter during dawn and dusk.
