Being the youngest on the team wasn't for the faint of heart. Sure, you loved your team greatly, they treated you like family. But sometimes the job could get to you more than others. You wanted this job, you wouldn't have signed up for it if you didn't. But sometimes the things you've seen out there have still haunted you in the back of your mind.
You never showed that though, not once. You put on a brave face and carried on. Thats what Price liked about you. You were determined, brave and always willing to step up. But even he could see right through you at times.
You came here as a rookie, Price could see thew fire in you're eyes and took you on. He's not regrated that once. 141 was your family, your home, and you'd never give it up. But sometimes, even Soaps daft jokes, Gaz's dry humor and Ghost's pats on the back weren't enough to break the darkness that clouded your mind at times.
You had trained all day today with Ghost after waking up with that said dark cloud in your mind. You worked yourself out, and Price had watched you all day. Even Ghost who was training with you, the man who always pushed you no matter what, offered you a break, but you refused.
You had trained from 9am that morning, only stopping for a little snack at lunch, before getting back to training and working all the way up to 7pm. Ghost left an two hours before you, offering for you to come hag out with the others for some down time, but you refused once again. Ghost left the training area and went straight to Price.
"Still in there?" Price blew a cloud of smoke out from between his lips as he looked out at the view from the balcony where the two stood. Ghost nodded and huffed. "Yup, stubborn, Captain." Price sighed. "I'll talk to him later... Ya know what he's like when somethings bothering him."
You huffed as you finally left the training area. Wiping yourself off with a towel and chugging some water. Letting out a heavy sigh, you stepped out onto the balcony to get some fresh air. "Long day?" You jumped, letting out a sigh when you saw it was only Price. "Fucking hell captain..." You huffed. "But yeah, long day." Your answer was sort, Price picked up on that.
"Hey now, don't be like that with me, kid. Something's bothering ya. I can tell." You stayed quiet for a moment. sliding down the wall to sit. "Just had to blow off some steam, I guess." Price walked over to sit beside you. "Something you saw on a mission? Look, I know it's hard seeing stuff out there, we all have seen stuff we'd rather forget. But-" "It's not that..." You sighed, making Price pause.
Price was quiet for a moment, letting silence linger. "Thinking of your folks?" Price finally said hesitantly, It was a touchy area you had only even spoken with Price about. You nodded. "I don't know why... I just feel like I need to prove to them that I'm not the weak kid they kicked out that day..." Price grumbled. He hated that you thought this way sometimes.
"You don't gotta prove shit kid. They ain't here to dictate your life no more." Price said softly. "I know that..." You huffed. "It's not just them I wanna prove myself to..." You paused for a moment. "It's you too..." Price went quiet, taking in your words. He let out a huff. "Me? you have to prove to me? Kid- you've already proven yourself to me... you're here aren't you?" Price said. "If I had even the tiniest doubt that you weren't cut out for this team, trust me, you wouldn't be here."
That got you to go quiet, cause Price was right, as always. "Stop being so right all the time..." You huffed playfully. Price chuckle deep. "Stop doubting yourself all the bloody time and maybe I wouldn't be." That got you to laugh a little, which made Price smile. "Oh shut up..!" You giggled and shoved the captains shoulder a little. Price grinned, grabbing you around the neck with his arm and ruffling your hair. "Don't you think you can just push your captain around now, Kid."
The action only made you giggle more, making Price chuckle along with you. Price suddenly took his hand away from your hair and squeezed your sides, making you squeal into the night air. "HEhehey!" You tried to break free from Prices grip in the headlock but he was too strong. "What? Need to cheer you up somehow, kid." He said with a hint of teasing in his voice.
You twisted and turned, legs kicking out on the floor as you pushed at his tickling hands and the arm keeping you in place. "fuhuhukin' stohohop!" "That anyway to talk to your captain, solider?" You cursed Price out in your mind, but not for long as you felt an even sharper squeeze on you ribs. a straggled giggle left your throat.
"See? I think I'm doing an alright job making you feel better." Price teased. "Ihihi'm gonna kihihihill yoho I swehehear!" You choked out between giggles. "No you're not. Not if I don't kill you doing this first." Price's hand shot down to your hips, making you squeal louder. How had no one heard you yet? "PRIHIHICE!" You cried out desperately.
"That's my name, kid." You practically groaned between fits of giggles at his words. Price's big hands dug into the hip bone, making you jolt and squeal like a kid. "STOHOP IHIHIT!" You cackled, pushing at him harder than ever. "Jesus kid, stop that squirming. I'm only trying to help a solider out." Price grinned. "IHIT TIHIHICKLES YOU DIHIHICK!" "Kinda the point, kid. I see old habits don't die with you."
Price could remember finding out you were ticklish when the two of you started to get closer. It was a secret he kept between you both. You both knew what someone like Soap would do with that information. But that didn't mean Price wasn't going to use it to his advantage, and you hated him for it. "You still ticklish here?" Price asked as his hand wrapped around your knee and he squeezed. Your leg kicked out instantly. trying to buck it his hand off. "NOHO! GEHEHEHET OHOHOFF!" You shook your head with a squeal. Price chuckled lowly. "you sure? cause you're screaming your head off, kid."
Price finally released your head from his headlock, but not to let you go, but to latch his now free hand back onto your sides and squeeze your stomach. A shriek tore from your throat without your control. "PRIHIHICE IHI SWEHEHEHEAR!" Price's hand moved from your knee to join his other at your sides and stomach. "Swear what, huh?" Your ears and face were bright red now from laughing your ass off and your hair was a mess.
"Fuckin' hell, kid. let's hope no enemy forces kidnap you for information." Price laughed. The statement only helped to make your face more red. "SHUHUHUT UHUHUP!" You had slid more down the wall into an awkward curled position, But Price's hands had followed you down. "Maybe I just gotta tickle the sensitivity right outta ya." Price rumbled, which only earned another high pitched stream of giggles. "F-FUHUHUHUCK OHOHOFF!"
"Yeah... I think I might have to kid, sorry." You groaned between your squeals. Price was in fact, not sorry at all. "IHI HAHAHAHATE YOHOHOU!" "Well now, that ain't nice! I'm only trying to help. Didn't know I brought such a rude solider on my team." Price moved his hand's up to your armpits and you almost screamed. You jolted away and clamped your arms down, falling down onto your back, now trapped. Price stayed sitting, his hands once again following your desent.
"PRIHIHIHICE!" you cried out again between squeals and shrieks. "see, now this should teach ya a thing or two for back talking your sweet old captain." He teased mockingly. "YOHOU AHAHARE NOT SWEHEHEHEET!" You shot back, earning more pinches and scribbles that made you squeal and arch your back slightly. "I have all night, kid."
"OHOHOKAY! PLEHEHEASE, FIHINE!" "I didn't hear no sorry from ya." "IHIM SOHOHORRY!" Price grinned. "You sure...? I don't know if you're sure..." "IHIHI AHAHAM! IHIHI SWEHEHEHEAR!" Price groaned but sighed as he finally pulled his hands away. "Alright, alright, fine. Don't wanna actually kill ya."
You lay on the concrete floor of the balcony, gulping up air, still giggling slightly. "You... are horrible..." You panted. Price only grinned like he had just received the best awarded in the world. "Why thank you." You finally sat up, finally having caught your breath. "Come on, up and at them, kid. It's freezing out here." Price said, his voice softer now as he pat your knee. You nodded. "Yeah..." "You need a break anyway, and a bite to eat. don't think I don't know you barely ate today."
You groaned but didn't complain. Price meant well, he always did. Price stood and helped you up, the two of you heading back inside, your mind now clear of that dark cloud. Price wrapped his arm around your shoulder and pulled you a little closer as you both walked. "I've got ya, kid."

I love Price! I had so much fun writing this, despite all the college work I skipped just to get this done. 😅
