It's so weird seeing so many people rejoice for the departure of the Renault engine in F1 because all I associate it with is the people at Viry who got thrown under the bus by whatever the fuck Alpine has become

That F1 engine was a program for future engineers here in France, so I'm actually dismayed to see it go, some people were clearly passionate about it and they got axed for what? Like they had even begun researching for 2026

I have a lot of issues with Alpine F1 but their fuckass engine that yeah probably wasn't good wasn't one of them

(in that regard, it's funny because the more time goes and the harder it gets for me to consider Alpine as anything French, like fuck next year the only French thing remaining will be Pierre and that's it)
