LOOK AT THESE CUTIES 🥰🥰🥰 A Shot At Love is now streaming on Cheratv, go check it out and give it some loooovvveeee
I know I’m screaming into the void but I am SO excited for cmq5 because it’s absolutely made for me
- Sapphic👩❤️💋👩
- Medieval (it’s likely medieval fantasy, although not confirmed)
- Includes a knight (a horse girl knight)
- LUNCH by Billie Eilish
- Nature (specially fungus?)
- Romcom, obviously
- The love interest
Has a cool sword
Has scars
Is a horse girl (so I assume she’s our knight)
Has a traumatic backstory (she’s the love interest with “the most tragic and traumatic backstory” out of all their love interests [according to Casey], so I’m EXCITED)
Is one of Casey’s favorite love interests of all time
Is emotionally unavailable
Has a big butt
And an even bigger heart (it’s giving “Your huge, generous, ridiculous, indestructible heart. / Your equally huge dick.” from Alex’s list)
Loves sausages and romance novels
An excerpt:
The movie Alto was really cute. Idk what the people on IMDb were talking about. It was a lesbian mafia romcom. What else did they expect from it outside of a cute couple, corny mafia shenanigans, and a happy ending? Because that was the promise, and that was what I got.
Imagine me and you (2005 movie)
“A newlywed bride becomes infatuated with another woman who questions her sexual orientation, promoting a stir among the bride's family and friends”IMDB
Rachel gets married to Hector and at their wedding Rachel meets her florist, Lucy, they fall in love. I won’t spoil the rest of the movie, but if you’re looking for a cute lesbian romcom, I really recommend this movie, nothing tragic happens, no one dies.
There are a few moments where some characters are kind of homophobic as a heads up, but it’s not the centre of it.
do you listen to girl in red?
Any good lesbian romcoms to recommend?
Yes!
So, a lot of lesbian movies have romantic themes, but they don't always have comedic elements. Like, we have a lot more serious types of romantic movies that have elements of tragedy to them. Personally, I'd like more comedies.
Although, there are some lesbian romcoms that I can think of off of the top of my head. They are:
"But I'm a Cheerleader."
--It's about conversion therapy and compulsory heterosexuality. I know that that might not sound funny, but the show is a dark comedy. It's super campy and amazing!
"D.E.B.S."
--Two words: lesbian spies. Also, the villain and the hero are so into one another that it makes them both look stupid (I mean this fondly). Personally, I think the movie is cheesy in the best way!
"Booksmart."
--This one is more of a coming of age film where one of the main characters happens to be a lesbian. It does deal with the characters first attempts at trying to flirt with other girls, though. It deals heavily with the themes of friendship and growing up, as well. It's also hilarious!
I'm sure there are others, but these are the three movies that first came to my mind where I think they fit firmly in the romcom category.
I was just watching an interview with Marta Belmonte and she said how she'd love to be in a comedy. I need her and Katie McGrath to be in a lesbian rom-com
1. They are both in their early 40s and we need representation for that age group
2. They are both super expressive and amazing actresses
3. They both play gay SO well! (We are not sure of either's orientation)
Ideas for the storyline? Let's write it! Katie should definitely be in her full Irish glory and Marta could even speak Spanish and they have a language barrier going on or a duel language romance.
I'm thinking they are both single because they were focused on their careers (should one own a bookstore?) and they both should be out sapphics. What else guys??
