Samuel Beckett’s 'Lessness' by Rosemary Pountney
Lessness (1969) was written by Samuel Beckett from sixty sentences, lettered A1-10, B1-10, C1-10, D1-10, E1-10 and F1-10, and then shuffled into two "disorders". Rosemary Pountney re-shuffled these sentences in her book Theatre of Shadows (1988) and later recorded these sentences with Jonathan Heron to produce an 'endless' Lessness, in consultation with Edward Beckett. This is a digital prototype of a practice-based research project, created in collaboration with James Ball.
