Edith looks away from her book an towards the girl who had entered the room. “No, thank you.” She responds, turning her attention back to the novel in her hands. Edith stalls for a moment, then quietly lifts her voice. “Actually, would you bring some tea? I’m too comfortable to ring the bell.” She jokes.
"Yes, m'lady. I'll be sure to get someone to bring it to you right away." Amelia said with a small smile, leaning down on the floor to begin to work. She had only seen the woman a handful of times since she had started her work, her first 5 years out of sight, waiting to be old enough to work, but now she was 13, she was a staff member, a scullery maid, the lowest of the low, and to her that was enough. She turned away from Lady Edith, concentracting on her task, trying to focus, but it was hard, especially when she was so focused on the fact she was in the presence of not only a Lady of the house, but a writer as well.
