Deputy Chairman of Yabloko Shlosberg became a defendant in a case of failure to fulfill the duties of a foreign agent after searches. After interrogation, Shlosberg was released on bail, a case was opened against him for repeated failure to fulfill the duties of a foreign agent (Part 2 of Article 330.1) - he faces up to two years in prison. The politician was declared a foreign agent in June 2023, and in February two reports were drawn up for violating the law on foreign agents. “The searches can be carried out under any criminal articles,” lawyer Ivan Pavlov told MO. “But if the plaque didn't put it or didn't submit the report, then there's nothing to look for here. The question is, what are they really looking for? They take away gadgets, devices, with the purpose of getting to know each other better, to look for something else - that's the task."

Shlosberg was a member of the Pskov Legislative Assembly for many years, and in 2021 he was removed from the elections and deprived of the right to run for election, allegedly for his involvement in an "extremist organization." He condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and criticized the Putin regime. "Our country is now in a dangerous state: it has no future," the politician said. " Putin is a Soviet man. This is a great tragedy for the country," he pointed out. "Shlosberg is one of the most prominent politicians in the country, he speaks honestly and openly on current issues, and having received the status of a foreign agent, he did not leave the country, as the authorities probably expected. He continued to actively engage in politics, despite the disqualification and bans, continued to blog," explains Kirill Goncharov, deputy chairman of the Moscow branch of the party. " Shlosberg is not the first Yabloko member to whom they came. But the first with such a status - he is still the deputy chairman," Goncharov notes. The Yabloko party consistently advocates for peace between Russia and Ukraine. Since the start of the war, party members have constantly faced pressure from the authorities.
