@leveilleurisms~ ShB thread!
“Help me, damn you... I... am your god...” As Vauthry’s sin-eater form dissipated into light, Fel was placed into the same darkness as she had thrice before. The particles of light flew to her, its tendrils entangling themselves with her aether-- this time though, the changes were far more noticeable. Fel could feel the impurities of the lightwardens’ aether, her own aether’s minute fractures widening by their joining--no, by its infestation. She knew this would happen-- her Echo allowed her to detect the light aether’s incompatibility with her own after the defeat of Titania. Even at Y’shtola’s confrontation, she knew-- but the auri would not admit to the Scion the dangers of her role. Only she could absorb the aether corrupting the First-- only she could serve as the Warrior of Light. Suddenly, her aether cracked-- the sound like thunder in her ears. Excruciating pain overtook all senses, and light spilled forth from her form. It was like nothing she felt before; as if the crushing agony had taken her heart and turned it into a black hole, threatening to engulf her. The warrior fell to her knees as her breath caught in her throat, hands splayed out before her to catch the fall. The corners of her vision faded to white, and she looked up to see the Exarch before her, isolated within a barrier as he tried to contain the light that began to return to the sky above them. “N-no...” Fel coughed, pure-white splatters coloring the floor beneath her-- a tell-tale sign that she had begun the transformation into a sin eater. No, she could do this. She could contain it. She had to. Blinking, Fel found her hand outstretched towards the Exarch. A sad smile formed on the man’s expression, knowing his actions meant his imminent death. Suddenly, a loud crack sounded in the air, and the now-revealed miqote lay motionless on the ground in front of her, the barrier around them dissipated. Another blink. Emet before her, lecturing the Scions on her failures. On their failures. Blink. A snap. Emet whisks the Exarch away, bidding Fel to join him as the sin eater that she would become. “No.... G’raha...!” Fel woke with a start, the dark red ceilings above her blurring into vision. Was that a dream? No-- the corners of her vision still burned white, and she tried to blink them away. With a sigh, she sat up. Of course Ardbert was there and said she had been in her room for days. Bidding him farewell, she opened the heavy wooden doors from her chambers and stepped out into the Pendants, assuring the innkeepers she was all right. Anger flooded the Auri-- the Exarch was now gone, and in serious condition no less. Why had Urianger stopped them? Why did the Scions do nothing? The first to meet her sights was Alphinaud as she entered the Cabinet of Curiosity-- little did the Scions know, the Auri had already poured herself over a majority of the books contained here, in search of a solution to the corruption of light. Eyes narrowed as she strode forward, knowing the boy had seen her coming. “You did nothing! How could you have done nothing, you’re a Scion!” The auri had the Elezen by the scruff of his coat, not caring the scene that she created. Her anger was too great-- her sorrow over her failure overwhelming. Tears formed in her eyes, but she let go of Alphinaud, the exertion too much for her current form to handle. She leaned against the nearest bookshelf, her chest heaving as she gasped for breath. With gritted teeth and smoldering eyes, she glared at the Scion, awaiting his explanation.
‘ i’m telling you this because you don’t get it, and you think you get it, which isn’t the same as actually getting it. get it? ’
Kohaku stared at Alphinaud silently for a moment, registering his words and then taking even longer to process the fact that he really said those words. Then their eyes slowly narrowed as they pouted. He almost lost them with the way he had worded it. How dare he take advantage of Common not being their first language?
“Oh really, Mister Leveilleur?” they questioned, light sarcasm in their tone. “I think you underestimate me! But I’m perfectly okay with letting you believe that I don’t ‘get it’ for now. Hmm, but if I didn’t know any better, I would think that you have something to hide. Perhaps you’re trying to distract me from the initial question I had? I will have you know I am very persistent~ Let me see your art!”

Nio definitely prefers tea over coffee.
A rich black tea in the style of Ishgardian brews are her favorite since coming to Eorzea, but she also enjoys green tea. She has become quite fond of taking a “tea break” on her days off. She will cook for herself and make something fancy to serve with whatever tea she has on-hand. Being in Limsa means being around a lot of exotic traded goods, so she always has a surplus of new teas to try!

He couldn’t see it, attention deep in his books as it was, but Kasumi actually pouted at that answer. I bet you said that five tasks ago, she thought, but she bit her tongue and didn’t say it. His intentions were good, and to be fair he was competent enough for these responsibilities, but he had to be careful- even if this hadn’t been how Thancred had fallen prey to Lahabrea, there was his health to consider!
Still... people had tried to scold Alphinaud over this, not least his own twin sister. If he didn’t take it from Alisaie, what were the odds of him listening when Kasumi said it? “Oh, I... I w-woke up. N-nothing serious... I was on my way b-back when I noticed the light.” She looked around for a moment before pulling up another chair to the desk, far enough from Alphinaud’s that she shouldn’t be a nuisance, but close enough that she could keep an eye on him.
“I’ll s-see you back to your room when you’re d-done,” she promised, pulling her robe a little tighter around herself against the chill in his office compared to her room. Surely if she sat up with him, his urge to see her practice healthy sleeping habits would prompt him to acquiesce, right?
@leveilleurisms.
a slender brow is raised in curiosity as she peers over the young one’s shoulder, trying to get a better glimpse at whatever it is he’s working on. ever since discovery of his little art skills, she’d often bother him with asking for a sketch or two here or there, just because she knew he could do it.
her hands perch on is shoulders and she leans down to plop her chin against the top of his snowy-white head. ❝ working on another masterpiece, alphinaud? ❞
she made her way to the table the twin sat at. pulling a chair to sit next to him. he seemed busy. enthralled by the papers covered in words that lay in front of him. her eyes stare at the papers, not bother reading what is on them. the information on them will probably go straight over her head. her brother is the clever one and she should leave him to figure out whatever they mean.
“ alphinaud. ” she spoke his name to make her presence obvious in case he did not even notice her beside him as his face is buried in a book of whatever sort. “ i was wondering... ” her curiosity got the better of her. picking up a loose piece of paper to take a better look at it. it had a really nice drawing on it. was this the work of her twin? “ could you tell me more of your adventures while you were out in ishgard. ” ( @leveilleurisms / unprompted starter bc i need twin softs )
Bedside Visit
@leveilleurisms here we go!
Naminé wiggled her toes and winced. Her legs had been injured in the liberation of Doma, and it hurt to move her muscles too much. She had been trying to pull injured fighters out of the way, toward the tents healers had set up where she was supposed to be helping, but alas. Who would’ve thought that shrapnel could be so painful? she mused, pushing herself up to a sitting position. Luckily it wasn’t life-threatening, and the medics didn’t think it would be permanent damage, but it hurt. And what would it do to the replica body she inhabited? She wasn’t going to think about it, beyond being grateful it had been removed already. I wonder if Even could make a new replica if the one I’ve got is too damaged? No, nope, I will not think about this.
Someone was entering the room she and several others were placed in. Naminé heard excited murmurs, which made her look over. A boy came in, the strategist everyone talked about (because she knew of no one else who could fit that description). He moved around, talking with the other injured people around her, and then he stopped at her bedside.
She looked up at him and her heart thumped. Was he going to be mad at her? Naminé was easily the youngest one here; although not the smallest with those... Lalafell... people. She was a young girl, small and fragile-looking, and her bright blonde hair stood out. “Ah, hello,” she said, nervous. At least she wasn’t wearing her white dress; if she had been, she was sure her legs would be even worse off. But what could she say to the boy in front of her? “You’re Alphinaud Leveilleur.” Yes, it was best to just go with what she knew. “It’s nice of you to visit us.”
