I feel crazy for thinking this but... VEE HAS BLOOD RIGHT?! She gets the bleeding and hemmorsging status effect, she drops blood orbs, and get guzzled down by Nosferatu like everyone else. Everyone says "oh it's just oil" YOU GENUINELY BELIEVE NOSFERATU OIT HERE GUZZLING DOWN CRUDE OIL?! If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck, and is CALLED A DUCK, then it's a duck, NOT A GOOSE! She uses Ultrakill sound effects for crying out loud! Now we're just left with the question of who in their right mind made a robot that runs on blood?!
My headcannon for why this is the case is that the Spectre monkey pawed Vee's wish to be more human. She feels ostrasized from others due to being inorganic, and greatly envies other people for being people. Congrats Vee, now you're more like your peers; filled to the brim with blood like a gusher! Must've been a very horrifying experience for her discovering she can bleed, being something that should have blood in the first place, very body horror-y.
though i do like the implication that nosferatu drinks oil if vee was filled with oil instead, this is so much better. oh my gosh. it is literally so peak. it's genuinely creepy and i love it.
Ababababa Faun Azure au coming your way woooooooooooooo!
Azure isn't apart of the cult, instead he lives in a herd of Faun that resides in the same forest as the Spawn Cult. Just like the rest of his kind, Azure has magic, but he's always struggled behind his peers. He was quite inept, and struggled to learn, making him feel quite ostracized from his herd. But he still has a love for plants, and a knack for not listening to authority. So when he's told not to go out deep in the woods because thers creatures in there that will kill him, of course he does it anyway, and this is how he meets Two Time.
They meet the same way as canon, a chance encounter in the woods where neither of them really should be. They both have the same realization, that this cryptic threat their communities warned about is real, and not some fairytale to make them behave, harrowing for both sides. But instead of violence like what is expected, instead they talk, and they get along quite well. Azure shows Two Time the little magic he does know, and it blows them away! For once, he's being praised, he's getting attention for his skills that his own kind would consider barely capable. It was addicting to him, so he kept going back, he stopped being careful.
Of course, eventually they are caught, and Amarah offers Two Time a proposition. They will be ostrasized from the cult, disgraced to the will of the wilderness, unless they rid this world of the Faun they harbored. They must bring a sacrifice, the ultimate sacrifice, the flesh of the foul creatures that stole from the Spawn itself... So Two Time returns to their usual meeting spot, full of flowers he cultivated with his own magic and passion, knowing what they have to do. And well... we all know how that story ends. Perhaps there's a world where They go with Two Time instead, back to his herd, where they are given sanctuary and care. But that isn't this world... Instead, a jet black deer, tar licking on its hooves and deadly nightshade blooming from its antlers stalks the woods where it was killed, plotting revenge...
Also Azure and Wanwood are 100% besties in this au, thick as thieves! Whether this is romantic or not depends on how fruity you think this man is, they're one of those ships I love equally platonically as I do romantically. Not sure if this will be included in this au, but I love trans Azure headcannons, which just makes me think of Wanwood giving Azure her antlers every shedding season so they both can achieve peak gender euphoria. It's be the season of deer gender affirmations! Oh if only boobs dropped every winter...
azure being this... innocent goober who just wanna have fun and enjoy life is absolutely amazing. after all you only live twice once! i approve of and i love this amazing silly faun azure!!!
oh my goshhh azure wanting two time's attention due to not getting that in from his own kind, leading into two time's betrayal... owieee...
if only the stinky spawn didn't ruin their beautiful relationship...
azure and wanwood friendship augh... i don't remember if i've yoinked this before but if i didn't, i'm yoinking this now... i see them as queerplatonic besties
Lil headcannon for Wanwood, as is expected of me, hello yes I am the Wanwood guy
The idea of medically transition kinda freaks her out, most modern and technologically advanced things give her the heeby jeebies, but especially the concept of being cut into and changed so unnaturally gives her the ick. Plus, it's such a hassle and takes so long she just wouldn't see it as worth it. Even more so when there's a much simpler solution; magic! She's a very skilled Druid, simple illusionary magic is easy! The only thing she's really trying to achieve is passing better. She can't keep it up for long periods of time, but she doesn't need to, it's simply performative anyway. It means she can do a neat party trick where she can just shove her entire hand into her boobs.
2x2 and I, when discussing about you, usually use the term, “the Wanwood person” when we’re being stupid.
She’s real for finding it freaky. I would, too. I would also be quite terrified of being unnaturally modified.
Good for her though! Wish I could have illusion magic too.
I'm going to cosplay as Jane Doe, and my lovely strand girlfriend has decided to join in as John as long as she can stay femme presenting (luckily a yellow polo and jeans with a grotesque appendage slowly taking over the body from the inside out doesn't really have a gender attached to it), and honestly now I need a transfemme John AU. Fuck you! *yuries your heterosexuals*
As for what her new name would be, in computer science, the names Bob and Alice are used as placeholder names for cryptographic systems, similar to how John and Jane are used as placeholder names for unidentified people. Considering John's connection to coding, Alice feels very clever and fitting for her!
John, realizing she's a trans women: "hun, I have something important to tell you... I think I'm a women, I understand if that means you don't love me anymore."
Jane, realizing she's a lesbian and was freaking out about it: "... I have good news."
while i won't yoink this, it's still such an interesting au.
hell yeah! cosplaying is awesome bro. not enough people cosplay john and jane doe sigh
anyways yesshhhh they get to be happy together!!!!
Ehehehe I'm here to cause problems! If you can't tell, I love Wanwood, she is my favorite girlie! I do love my ships, but I wanna ramble about other relationships dynamics with Wanwood that I adore, starting with one I swear no one else except for me thinks about; her and Guest 1337
Most of my headcannons around her lore come from her previous rendition as Cerulean, and if this update pace keeps up we won't be getting her in the game for like 5 years, so NO ONE CAN STOP ME! You will pry Dadsekkar out of my DEAD COLD HANDS! (But that's a dynamic for a different ask.) These two share a lot of similarities that I think would give them a unique understanding of each other, that being watching both of their parents be brutally murdered in front of them as children by a group of people that wanted to wipe out their entire race. If Guest got PTSD from watching his parents die, surviving a genocide, loosing his friends, and fighting in a war, then Wanwood sure as hell also has PTSD from watching her parents die, surviving a genocide, discovering the dead body of her closest friends, and having her home destroyed.
The vibe Wanwood and Guest give me is a people aversed traumatized shelter cat hiding underneath a table, while a patient animal lover sits beside the table going "pspspspsps" while trying to coax them out with one of those licking meat tubes. Wanwood is cautious of basically everyone, and very averse to people in general, but she's very scared of Guest specifically. She had her magic stripped away from her just like Dusekkar, so she has very abruptly gone to very powerful and self assured, to completely defenseless and defanged. She's physically strong enough to where she thinks she could take on a majority of the survivors if push came to shove, but Guest is much bigger and stronger than her, and could easily overpower her. If you know the numbers when it comes to trans women, then you know why the thought of being trapped in a space with a man physically stronger than you with nowhere to run would be TERRIFYING! Of course Guest is a girl dad and a gentle giant, but she doesn't know that, and Wanwood doesn't like to take risks.
Guest, being the dad of the group and the loving caring guy that he is, decides to try and knock down her walls. He doesn't push, he doesn't force himself in. Instead he keeps his distance and shows ever so slightly that he's not a threat, and he just wants to protect her. He offers olive branches of trust, proving through his actions and words. I imagine a scene where Wanwood ends up experiencing severe flashbacks and becomes completely dissociative, where the other survivors don't understand what's going on, Guest recognizes the signs almost immediately and comes to help her. Wanwood never had anyone to teach her how to deal with the symptoms of PTSD, but Guest has been dealing with them for much longer, so she coaches her through it and helps ground her. That was the moment Wanwood finally started to trust him, he could have done anything to her and she likely would have never known. Instead, he helped her for no benefit of his own, and seems to genuinely understand her.
Wanwood certainly reminds Guest of Charolette, dude saw a young scared women pop up out of no where and the girl dad instincts activated. He definitely projects a lot of his grief with his daughter onto Wanwood, seeing helping her as some kind of "redemption." Wanwood does the same thing; while her and Dusekkar's relationship is pretty positive, him straight up disappearing for years is going to have some aversed affects (again, dynamic for another ask). He is still lying to her about his status as an admin, and when that secret eventually gets out, ooooooh good lord have mercy in everyone in that cabin! Wanwood is going to lean on Guest HARD when that comes to pass. I can imagine the two of them telling stories to each other about how they got their scars, Guest from serving in the war, and Wanwood from monster hunting. They'd also spar a lot, full on wrestling and rough housing, dude be grabbing her by the antlers and tossing her around and she be having a blast! Don't tell Dusekkar though, he'd be jealous.
YAY! IT'S WANWOOD
but also... oh no... it's you. what a long paragraph bro
yeah bro... five years... wanwood tomorrow... trust... it's just like noli milestones...
guest 1337 and wanwood are so similar yayayayay!! bonding over shared trauma hell yeah!!!
you know the comparison of wanwood and guest 1337 to a traumatized cat and an animal lover reminds me of a video. will share at the end of the post. it's a little different but still :)
I love guest 1337 and wanwood being like a father-daughter relationship. It's so sweet. it reminds me of something i've personally experienced. god this is amazing. it's so happy even with the angst. immediate fav.
Since there's no groundhogs in the forsaken realm, the gang goes to Wanwood for how long it'll be until spring, considering her connection to nature and everyone just associates her with the seasons. She doesn't take this job seriously at all, so she just picks one at random so they'll leave her alone.
😭
yoinked. i like how the survivors treat wanwood like some special deity-like being and she's couldnt care less.
With Jane's files on the admins claiming Dusekkar would wear very bold things to work, I am convinced this man has at least dabbled in drag. In my mind, he didn't just try it, dude is a full on part time drag queen on the side. Don't ask me how a pumpkin wears make up, he looks stellar in it anyways. When he retired from being an admin, he stopped doing performances as well. He let Wanwood try some of his old dresses when she first came out to him, but they didn't quite fit due to him being freakishly tall. He was so thrilled to doll her up like when he was younger!
And if you want my professional drag opinion, Chance ABSOLUTELY does drag performances for his casino.
I'M CRINE. i can imagine it. yesh yesh. dusekkar in dress. wanwood in dress. yesh yesh. yay. yippee.
PEAK HEADCANON.
but i'm not gonna yoink it until i figure out how a pumpkin wears make up. i cannot get this image in my head.
I come with a bit more Faun lore! Consider this a follow up to my first worldbuilding ask here
Thanks to the Spawn Cult, there are very VERY few Fauns left. Most hide among the public, while others seclude themselves far from civilization. They're shockingly hard to spot, especially does, as they can die their hindquarters quite well. Bucks, on the contrary, stick out like a sore thumb with large racks of antlers. Outside of visual distictions, fauns have a natural inclination towards magic, so it's very common for magic users to be fauns in disguise. A few known fauns are Dusekkar, Wanwood, Lonelytrees, and 226w6. I'm also considering making Itrapped one as well, being more caribou based with antlers made of ice. Fitting for a person so obsessed with guns to be so close to a creature known to be hunted for sport...
Antlers are a big part of Faun culture for the bucks. Developing antlers is a symbol of growing up and coming of age, parents may keep their fawn's first shed the same way one might keep their kid's first baby tooth, shedded antlers are used to make tools, fresh velvet holds many medicinal properties and is used as an ingredient in many spells and potions. They're a status symbol within herds, the larger the rack, the more respected you are. They're symbols of both strength and wisdom, as larger antlers often come with age. It's a common sport for fauns to spar using their antlers similar to their animal counterparts, not just for entertainment, but to gain status and notoriety in their community. Bucks are expected to be protectors, to be strong, to be reliable. While some bucks do perform magic, it's primerally a doe dominated field, as bucks are more valued for their physical strength. Witches and druids are seen as feminine roles, after all.
So, you know how big game hunters often display the heads of dears as trophy's of their kills..? Yeah, the spawn cult absolutely does that with the fauns they killed. The biggest of the bucks, those that put up the biggest fight, the hardest to kill, those most agrigous to the Spawns name. They're made into trophies of their triumph over the heretics, displays of what will become of those that disgrace the Spawn. I can imagine the top leaders of the cult wearing crowns of antlers, or even full on shrines to the spawn made of their bones and antlers. Chilling!
