Star Trek Discovery May Expand Its LGBTQ Scope In Season 2

The first season of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ featured the first gay couple in ‘Star Trek’ history and season 2 might be expanding on that, according to showrunner Aaron Harberts.  Speaking at WonderCon, Harberts explained: 

“In terms of your question about a same-sex couple on the female side, you know, you may very well be already watching one and you just don’t know.  All of our characters, who are so different, they lead with their professionalism and their strong character first. But you may already have a window into a relationship and you just don’t know it.”

‘Star Trek: Discovery’ is expected to return in early 2019.
