The University of Idaho 2019 Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is finally here! Welcome students and performers, we are looking forward to hearing some great music this weekend!

The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival starts tomorrow and runs through the 25th! Don’t miss this opportunity to see some amazing jazz ensembles perform during the nightly concerts and watch students of all ages from all around the country learn about America’s music.

The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival officially begins tomorrow, but today we welcome ten local schools to participate in a bonus day of musical workshops led by U of I Lionel Hampton School of Music faculty. Here, Hampton visits with Lapwai school children as part of the Jazz in the Schools program.

The University of Idaho Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is just a week away! The Jazz Festival has a long history of local and regional student participation, from competitions to world-famous jazz musicians visiting nearby elementary schools. The 2018 festival is currently expecting 4,110 students from 145 schools!
