Anyone go to or went to UIUC? I've been accepted to their masters program for Library Science (woot woot!), and I'm tying to learn as much as possible about the school before I make any final decision. I'd love to hear about people's experiences!

Editing Wikipedia While In Library School

Are you a Wikibrarian? I recently became one—a librarian who edits Wikipedia (“the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit”)—and I have found the experience rewarding in the extreme. I have even stumbled into a role as an embedded consultant, helping faculty teach undergrads how to write Wikipedia articles on gender history, on which improvements are urgently needed. So what are the benefits to becoming a Wikibrarian while in library school?

It's 5 a.m.

My paper about zines and metadata was turned in on time a couple days ago

My paper about improving library services for trans youth which is due by 5 p.m., while still not quite flowing how I want it to and two pages over the page limit, exists in the form of a finished first draft

Momkins has promised to proof it and send me her comments. Sometimes I write sentences like a goober and she helps me fix them.

So I just proof the paper over my lunch break and turn it in like a good little student
