Elizabeth “Libby” Harben was born on May 17, 1913 in New York. Her father was the noted writer William Harben. She grew up in New York and after graduating from high school worked as a secretary to an executive of a large corporation, then got into modeling. She signed with John Robert Powers in about 1935. By 1938, she was a well known urbane model. She appeared in one movie but was not interested in a movie career. She married William S, Cox and gave up modeling to raise a family. The Coxes moved to Connecticut and had three children: William Jr., Barbara and Bonsai. Libby died at the ripe old age of 95 in 2008.
