A children's book series that is criminally underrated is the Mercy Watson books. They're about 3rd grade level "chapter" books and they're hilarious. There's not really a clear message generally, but they're great at introducing some big words like "porcine" and "unmentionable". They're also great at introducing some tricky letter combos like in "toast", "Eugenia", and "Francine Poulet". Toast, porcine and Eugenia are in every book so it gives regular practice for those words. I also like that the big new word in each book (like "unmentionable") is used multiple times throughout the book to practice.

They're roughly 70 pages with lots of pictures and Little Man sits through the whole book.

we weeded maggie stiefvater's The Raven Boys from our library collection because it hadnt been checked out in 5 years. The whole Raven Cycle is gone now.

devastates me to imagine that the series isnt sitting on the shelves for the next weirdo introvert kid who needs it.

if you have a beloved children's or YA book that you feel needs to be on your library shelves, and it's already there, and it's not something that's obviously getting checked out all the time (Roald Dahl, Lemony Snicket, and Stephanie Meyer are safe, for example), check it out to help ensure it's there for the kid who needs it when the time comes

Spent the afternoon in the library today and while I sat there amongst the books I felt inspired. Originally sketched and then inked. I have been adding a lot of color in my works since posting here. But there was a time I only worked in black and white. Today I also felt inspired to complete this one in black ink using the white paper as the white space.

I was at the library today & saw a poster for ‘teen hot cocoa movie night.' I was immediately interested since I looooove hot cocoa, but I said, ‘Too bad the drinks won't be vegan.’

My husband replied, “And ur not a teen.”

I was MINDBLOWN WTFFFFFF.

I keep forgetting that I'm not a teen anymore... That I'm literally 31.....😂 Shit be crazy.
