@liesought sent “ yes, these last few years have been a living hell, but… i’d live them a thousand times over if it meant you being safe and happy. ” for Sebastian
Hell was putting it lightly. Being locked in a box, trapped only with his thoughts and the haunting thought of being the cause of her death had been a form of torture that hell wouldn’t be able to replicate. That limbo where he had been trapped for so long was a form of death he had never experienced before. An experience that left him longing for the ending of his life. Being woken from that slumber and brought back by the Salvatore School’s students was both a relief and a cruel joke from the universe. He had long since came to terms with the idea of never waking up again, of living trapped in his thoughts and the memory of her.
Meeting with her again... that was something Sebastian never thought capable, and finding out she had been trapped in his own pendant, resting on his chest, so close to his undead heart, felt like an even bigger joke, a betrayal of sort he could not be mad for. She had saved him, unaware of the demons lurking in the darkness of his mind. And she had stayed with him for as long as he had been lost among them. Thinking that perhaps, her years trapped had been just as horrifyingly tortuous as his, made him shiver and reach for her as if he could protect her from all that time now.
A gentle finger is raised to her face, pulling a strand of hair behind her ear with a delicacy that he could only have with her. A sad smile tugging at his lips. “ I would much rather you didn’t go through that again, love. If your years in that pendant were anything like mine, I’d much rather be miserable than have you live them time again.”
