My Immortal, All Your Base
My Immortal: How would you describe your usual fashion sense?
Nerdy t-shirts, blue jeans, and hoodies or blue jean jackets. Also scarves whenever the weather warrants it, and baseball caps if I have my hair in a ponytail.
Whenever I have to wear fancier clothes, I’ll wear... well... fancier clothes like long sleeved shirts... and DRESS PANTS. After being forced to wear skirts and dresses for the majority of my life I AM GOING TO WEAR DRESS PANTS. I very very very much prefer to dress modestly--wearing anything the slightest bit immodest (a shirt whose neck dips a bit too low, or a shirt that’s slightly too short, or short-waisted pants) makes me very very uncomfortable, and I don’t care what anyone tells you SKIRTS ARE NOT MODEST. IT IS NOT MODEST TO BE WALKING AROUND ON A WINDY DAY AND HAVE YOUR SKIRT BE BLOWN UPWARD BY THE WIND. Skirts being modest is a lie from the pit of hell and I hate the entire concept that women have to wear skirts in order to be modest. WHAT IS MODEST ABOUT PEOPLE BEING ABLE TO LOOK UP YOUR SKIRTS IF YOU SIT JUST WRONG???
... okay sorry that’s a pet peeve of mine. I am a Christian and grew up in a Christian home and Christian church and Christian school and Christian college and I would hear all the time (not in my own house, but everywhere else) that it is not modest for a girl to wear pants and after many experiences with struggling to make skirts cover my legs properly and attempting to wear scorts (which were very shortly afterward banned from my school for no discernible reason) and trying to keep stupid preteen guys from staring up my skirt I just--i don’t see it. the only reasoning I have EVER heard for pants being immodest on girls is that “it creates an arrow that points to your crotch” and by that logic all dudes should wear skirts too. %| i don’t get it it makes no sense why do people still have this mindset dfsla;jlsdjlad
oh gosh i’m still ranting about it SORRY AAAAAAAAA NEXT QUESTION
All Your Base: How long have you been on the internet?
Since I was 7, back in either ‘96 or ‘97. My bro-in-law found a fansite about Yoshi and showed it to me (I remember it was just a black background with white text and had a huge picture of the SMRPG render of Yoshi, as well as a oneshot fic about Yoshi buying pastries from a bakery (literally that was the entire story) and I thought it was the greatest thing I’d ever seen) and I was hooked ever since. I joined my first online community when I was 9 years old and used the name babycharmander, so... as you can see, the username goes a long way back. (I was not the first to use it though! I think there was a BabyCharmander’s Pokepark or something, but I’ve been the only person online to consistently use this username this long, as far as I know).
