I really like responding to someone’s thoughtful comment without worrying that my reply might seem random or awkward. Honestly, I often end up not replying because of that. Seeing people talk about adding likes to comments on AO3 got me thinking—will commenters focus on making their replies “likable” instead of sharing their honest opinions? I get kind of nervous about coming off wrong when I reply to comments on someone else’s post. This whole thing on Tumblr could be a test to see how the like button affects online culture—whether it sways opinions for better or worse, or results in no noticeable difference. I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks about the like button now that it’s on Tumblr. Also, I've rewritten this a few times, but I want to get a feel for how people think about it, with related things considered. :)
