#like...................................#you can totally want people to be together without expecting that all their problems will be fixed or that they'll become good people #sometimes your ship even becomes canon and ends that way but they aren't.... good people #i mean this goes back to when i was watching the borgias and EVERYONE shipped cesare/lucrezia #but there was a clear.......... divide between ppl who shipped it and wanted them to run away and pretend to be a married couple #and ppl (like me) who shipped it and wanted it to happen but also wanted it to like. permanently ruin their family #bc that's what realistically would happen and was set up #i mean you see it w/ r*ylo #a ship that i wouldn't say i ship per se but do see the appeal of #there's the idea that the bad person will be redeemed and be happy with the good person #and then there's the idea that maybe the only way they can be together is for one to be corrupted #and it's not bad to want that to happen. it may not be the traditional happy ending that everyone wants #but if it makes sense within the context of the story that's okay?#and like tbh i think it takes a lot of the 'romanticizing bad shit' issues off the table #like hey i just read the shadow and bone trilogy and it was... blatantly obvious that the one ship everyone wanted wasn't gonna happen #bc bardugo never committed to it 100%#but if she had she would have basically had to create a totally different story #the story we had would never have seen a happily ever after for those two #accept your dark!ships for what they are is what i'm saying
