I need a splash of color from Africa again (September 2025). So here are a few pictures of the wonderful lilac-breasted roller. It's the national bird of Kenya and Botswana.

Aviapril day 24, lilac-breasted roller. There are so many colors on my palette for this one, but I refused to leave out shading on any of the colors. Besides, it's not like I'm actually restrained in color count.

Day 114 of DDD! Lilac-breasted Roller! A bird from Southern and Eastern Africa who occasionally comes to southern Arabian peninsula! These birds are appearently absent in places without trees. Hence why they do not go further than southern Arabian peninsula. Due to the deserts.

The lilac-breasted roller is a small, beautiful bird which is fairly common in Southern and Eastern Africa. It is Kenya's national bird.

The bird is even more colorful in flight, but I wasn't quick enough to get a clear photo then.
