‘Did you just.. shoot me?’ The lights flashing on his laser-tag vest suggested someone had, but surely it couldn’t be Lili? The betrayal would run far too deep. That’s what his hurt expression suggested. It soon broke into a smile minutes later to show he was playing though and he stepped closer. ‘I cannot believe. I’m your date, Lilibear. We’re supposed to be on the same team.’ It felt slightly surreal to be using the D-word in a sentence that included them. They were best friends and while, once upon a time, Ross would’ve given anything to take the blonde out on her perfect, romantic rendezvous, things had changed since then. Or rather, rejection had been accepted. He saw the way Lili looked at Camila. She’d never look at him like that. Not in his head at least. However. Regardless of all that, heart had still skipped a beat when he saw their names together. He couldn’t imagine spending Valentine’s with anyone else, even if he knew she could. ‘Does that mean we can blow this off and go get some food now?’
