So the beautiful thing about watching Snape's death scene again in the movie after a long time is that you sit there, bawling your eyes out like a child, so deeply moved and recognizing Lily's theme playing softly in the background, which just about rips you apart. And after you're done wailing and crying and the scene is over you wipe away your tears and you're like - 'Wow, that was awful. It hurt so bad in addition to my daily life's excruciating pain. This is so sad in so many ways, my heart is aching. Now I absolutely have to watch it again, it hurt so bad in just the right spot!'
And then you watch it again like a little crazy person and you still observe it in utter disbelief, utter shock and pure awe.
it’s been a while since i did a choral arrangement! this is lily’s theme from the harry potter 7 pt 2 soundtrack, by alexandre desplat, sung by me a bunch of times on top of myself
yes i made this because i read all the young dudes recently and am still in emotional turmoil
I love this rendition of Lily’s Theme in this. It’s so powerful and blew me away the first time I heard it.
Listening to this, I feel that Lily is always watching over Harry. She never left.
Okay so I have to share this. I just downloaded Lily's theme to listen to it because I think it's so beautiful in so many ways. And I listened to it intently, really feeling the music. It's really deep and ethereal. Now when the song faded away, my music was still on shuffle and I kid you not, the next ramdom song started and it was a German song I know since my childhood. It's called "Deine Liebe, deine Treue", which means "Your love, your faithfulness (or loyalty)". The text goes something like (translated) : "Your love, your faithfulness have made everything good. Your love, your faithfulness have always guarded my fortune (but more in the sense of 'my treasure, my preciousness')."
That really had me in awe. 😮💚
After that, somehow "Forever not yours" has started to play and I don't know how I feel about that. But I might have a helpful time writing out my thoughts and musings about Snape as a story.
