Link x Cloud via super smash bro universe.
Cloud wasn’t sure what Sephiroth hit him with to knock in him into this weird dimension that was plagued by giant Hands, but he was grateful that he wasn’t the only one fighting off wave after wave of large dismembered appendages. He stood back to back with another swordsperson, who had also been dropped into this strange place.
He looked up to the vast expanse of space above them, looking to see if yet another Hand was about to descend. “I think…I think that’s the last of them.” Cloud said. As if to mock him, the Hand that they had just taken down twitched.
Link looked speciously at the Hand and threw a bomb at it. It leapt up, writhing as it burned and lunged at the pair. Its death throes took Cloud by surprise and managed to knock him back.
He lost his footing too close to the edge of the arena and his mako infused green eyes widened in panic.
“Hyaaa!” Link grunted, grabbed Cloud’s arm, and pulled the Soldier back from the brink.
Maybe it was the force of Link’s pull, maybe Cloud lost his footing a second time, he crashed in Link and the pair ended up in a tangled of limbs with Cloud sprawled out on top of the other fighter
Neither moved for a minute, waiting to see if any of the other defeated Hands made a move. As silence crept along, Cloud let out a sigh of relief and dropped his forehead to rest on Link’s .
“Hyaa,” Link said softly.
Cloud’s cheeks pinked. “Sorry, didn’t mean to crush you.” Cloud went to move, but was held in place by Link’s arms.
“Hyya.”
Cloud’s brow furrowed, “I don’t understand.” He chalked it up to being from different dimensions, a language barrier that he didn’t know how to overcome.
Link looked pointedly at Cloud’s lips and then his eyes, and brought up a hand that stroked Cloud’s cheek. “Hya,”

Cloud nodded shyly and brought his face back down to Link’s hoping he hadn’t gotten the wrong message.
When Link kissed back Cloud sighed in relief, glad that despite a deference in language they were able find another means of conveying their feelings.
