There was no better way to explain what Donna felt when she heard Sarah’s words. She knew how much she feared Donna might lose interest in her, but it was only reason enough for her show her just how much she LOVED her. “Darling, that will never happen. It would be impossible.“

She reached out to place a hand on her cheek, smiling at her. “You are wonderful and make me happen, there’s no reason for me to replace you. I wished you could believe me.“ She couldn’t help the small sigh that left her lips, even though it wasn’t meant in a bad manner for Sarah. Donna simply wanted to understand her, that she wouldn’t replace her.

Dear Sarah,

I guess since you’re reading this, it means I’m gone. I cannot guess what actually happened, but I know for sure I didn’t do it without fighting it. You know, leaving you is the hardest thing I’ll ever have to do.

I know we never had it easy, we had hard times, but we went through them, we fought so hard. And this is what you’ll have to do now. I know you, Sarah Jane, you’ll be sad and heartbroken and it is alright, it’s fine. That is just a natural way to react, but please, don’t shut yourself off the world. Don’t let the sadness get the best of you. I don’t want you to fall into a hole, just remember the wonderful time we had. And it was really amazing.

I can’t say how sorry I am for leaving you alone, but you need to know, I love you so very much. I always told you, but I always feared you’d not believe me. But I mean it, you are the only person I ever loved in such a deep and strong way. And I always will, even now. You showed me how wonderful love could be, that it didn’t have to be just another disappointment in my life. You were the best part of me, the most wonderful thing. And words can’t even describe how much I love you for it.

Sarah, you’re so special and so important, let other people see how wonderful you are. Just promise me, Sarah, live your life as you did before, with me. Remember the good, and that I will always look after you. My love, I’m so sorry and I love you. I never wanted this to happen.

You gave me the best time of my life, you were the best. I will never forget that, my love. Never forget you.
