Arcadia Bay is real!
The first set leak of production.
I was trying to keep it lowkey this week, but it's out there now on other social media platforms, so I'm posting these photos to my blog.
This week on the LiS subreddit on the post about Maisy's blue hair, I noticed that someone commented that they had walked by the set of Life is Strange earlier that day. I followed their comment history to the Richmond, BC subreddit, where I saw another post about a film set in their area. Once I asked around, a kind Redditor, u/nickfruhling, shared these photos with me (my Reddit username is u/that-internet-lover). The pics confirm that the historic neighborhood of Steveston in Richmond, BC, Canada will be Arcadia Bay. Huge thanks again to Nick for generously sharing these photos with me!
Firstly, look at these banners!! I'm obsessed with the limited red/white/blue/black color palette. It's both pretty and very American, lol. The art department did their THING with these designs! We can see the iconic lighthouse, Blackwell clock tower, and AB scenery. I also love the wave motif on the other side that adds to the seaside town vibe.
The last photo that u/nickfruhling also shared with me is one that hasn't been passed around in the subreddit or Twitter yet (zoomed in version below).
If you look closely, you can see signs for Arcadia Pawn, Up All Nite Donuts, and Bean Hip Cafe, which are all places mentioned in the games! Even cooler is that they're only mentioned in the in-game computers and documents, so this is a true deep cut and the art team designed these logos from scratch. The commitment to detail is incredible.
If they're putting this much effort into banners and signs we'll only see for two seconds onscreen, I can't wait to see how detailed Chloe's room will be!! 😍
