Liz: “Persica! Listen to me, I’m not leaving you. I’m going to keep you safe, okay?”
Persica: “...Okay.”
Liz: “Come here, Rosie. It’s all going to be okay.”
...
Spice: “So, can we really keep her safe?”
Liz: “We’ll find out, won’t we?”

Spice: “So, can we really keep her safe?”
Liz: “We’ll find out, won’t we?”
Spice: “Let me help you up. Persica, what happened?! You have been laying here for days!”
Persica: “I... I don’t... Dad? Dad!”
Liz: “Hey, Rosie-posie.”
Persica: “Daddy... I miss you so much.”
Liz: “I know, babydoll. I miss you too.”
Spice: “How are you here?”
Liz: “I’m not at liberty to say much, but I can say that both a friend of the family and an actual member of the family have pulled some strings to let me be here, for Persica’s sake.”
Spice: “Monsieur, I appreciate your attempts at comforting me, but who are you?!”
Liz: “Her Father.”
Spice: “...Aren’t you supposed to be dead?”
Liz: “She’s waking up. Or, rather, entering a lighter state of comatose.”
Spice: “Persica!!”

Liz: “Hopefully you both grasp why this is serious.”
Spice: “But... But she is young, yes? That improves her chances of recovery, no?”
Persica: “It actually makes it less likely.”
Spice: “Is that true?!”
Persica: “Most kids with Luxor syndrome don’t make it past toddler. Our bodies don’t know how to grow with the weird mix of human and alien biology it has, so any stress can break it. I’m very likely going to die.”
Liz: “Oh sweetheart... Honey, you let me worry about the Grim Reaper, okay? That’s why I’m here, to make sure you live long enough for you to wake up, alright?”
Persica: “I can’t imagine what this is doing to Mom and Apri and Percy and Aubie! They already lost you! They can’t loose me too!”
Liz: “It has been days! You’ve been pushing yourself too hard, and it’s showing on your body. You didn’t just overdo it, you overdid overdoing it.”
Spice: “What does that mean?”
Liz: “...It means, Spice, she triggered a Complete Luxor Collapse.”
Persica: “Complete?!”
Liz: “Her body has always been more fragile than her siblings, despite every one of them being half alien. A Luxor Collapse on this scale is bad news.”
Spice: “How bad?”
Persica: “It means I might never wake up!”
Somebody, I forget who, tagged me to do @exi-sim-stial‘s simshaming thing and I just now got around to it. Tried to make it legible, sorry if it isn’t. Consider yourself tagged if you want to do it!
Percy: “Dad?!”
Liz: “Calm down, you’ll wake yourself up. I already don’t have a lot of time. I’m breaking a few rules here.”
Percy: “All this time and I don’t see you once, why now?”
Liz: “Part of it is I literally didn’t have the strength to visit, and I still don’t, and part of it was I had to come to terms with my own death.”
Percy: *sigh* “How can I help?”
Liz: “When Persica’s in high school, I want you to paint her and give her my necklace.”
Percy: “Why?”
Liz: “She’s the heir to the house, you all have your own fates and fortunes waiting for you outside of my legacy.”
