Tool Thief
Tien-Li Steadypaw, master engineer, was having a bit of a dilemma.
It seemed at one point today, she had dropped one of her spanners...and was having a hell of a time getting it back. "...Khio, give back. Holding on stubbornly, the calf let out a defiant 'Mah!', wriggling farther under the bench he was using as cover. Tien-Li sighed, blowing a strand of hair out of her face. "Is no forrr little moos! Can be dangerrrr forr." "MAH!" She let out another sigh of frustration. "No make come get, Khio!" There was just a little pause before... "MAHHH!" Throwing her paws up into the air, Tien-Li raised her voice just a touch. "Fine! Tili come get, and have come all the way down to floor!" Tien-Li held onto the nearby table, starting to verrrry carefully lower herself down to the floor. Her belly was making this -very- difficult, causing her to wobble. "..ma...maaah! MAH!" A pair of little hands were touching her belly, followed by a wide-eyed calf staring at her. He scrambled out from under the bench, the spanner clenched tightly in one little fist to drop it on the bench. Tien-Li blinked, a little confused. Khio kept making soft noises of distress, hands still on her belly. "...Khio...worrrrry Tili fall? Hurrrrt beebees?" The little calf nodded rapidly, blinking tears from his bright blue eyes. "...m-maahh...." Her own eyes filled with tears. Very gently, she sat on her rump, holding her arms out to the calf. "...Khio...come..." He flung himself at her, cuddling up to her belly and sniffling. "...Is oak-kay, Khio...have lots look afterrrr, yah?" Tien-Li hugged the calf gently, smiling. "...arrre good calf."
