Little Lovely Things by Maureen Joyce Connolly is an expertly written, emotional tale involving one of a parent's worse nightmare, the abduction of two children. The novel is very well-written and character development is remarkable. There are a lot of emotional ups and downs in the story that kept me reading. I even caught myself getting emotional a time or two. If done properly, Little Lovely Things could probably be made into a good movie, but movies are seldom as good as the books. My only complaint, is that there is one character that I wanted to see karma catch up with, but it wasn't mentioned. That does not detract from the story, though, that is just what I wanted to happen. I can't say too much more without bringing in spoilers. Overall, the writing is exceptional, as is the character and setting development. The story is engrossing and well-crafted. I have to give this one five stars.
