👫 - four headcanons abt the muse's relationship from littlmouse

It takes a long time for Nik and Bloodhound to grow close, namely because Nik doesn't have much interest in the legends and there isn't many opportunities for them to run into each other. Their meeting is by utter chance and eventually, they exchange numbers after running into each other several times over the course of a couple of months.

Michael and Bloodhound hit it off very well. Nik was worried initially about bringing in someone new to his kid's life and had no way of knowing how he would react to the hunter. But they get along very well and Hound is even teaching him how to defend himself with a knife, bonding!

It's no secret how highly Bloodhound values privacy and how cautious and shy they are about baring their scars to others. It takes some time and gentle coaxing and patience before they are able to bare themself to Nik and there are times where they put their mask back on because they feel too exposed. It's okay because Nik never pushes them too far and instead gently encourages them however he can.

Bloodhound doesn't take Nik on hunts with them, he is strong and capable there is no doubt about that, but they worry about exposing him to such dangers. If he asked to accompany them they would not refuse, however, they instead take him on trips to beautiful places in the deep wilderness that they have discovered instead. Just the two of them appreciating each other and nature's beauty.

BONUS. Once Nik's hair grows out enough to be able to do something with it again Bloodhound delights in playing with it and doing it up for him. Even if all he prefers are simple buns, it's an excuse to gently run their fingers through his hair and down along his neck. Whenever they finish doing his hair they always lean forward and plant a kiss just behind his ear, whispering to him how handsome he is.

They sit still, stiff as a board as he applies the antiseptic to the jagged claw marks that marr their backside. It’s due to their own error that they are in such a state and Hound grits their teeth against the stinging pain. It doesn’t help the anxiety that buzzes under their skin at any part of them being exposed without their want to be. It’s something they have been struggling with for a while, even with Nik whom they slowly been growing closer to, and it’s frustrating when they just want to bear their skin without worry. They trust him, they do, so why is it that they feel this way?

Nik places a hand upon their shoulder then, his palm warm and roughened by the tough life that he has led. He doesn’t speak any words but his touch alone makes some of the tension they were carrying in their shoulder fizzle away and they sigh softly, staring holes into the floor before them. The silence is deafening but also comforting and it’s only when Nik pulls away to get more supplies that they dare to speak up. Their voice nothing more than a quiet whisper.

“Thank you for helping me like this.” They didn’t know how they could repay his kindness but perhaps they should. For the rare smile that he sometimes gives them and the attention that makes them blossom rather than shirk away.
