Going barefoot happens somewhat naturally in vanlife, and for those times when shoes are needed, it’s not always easy to find something that allows you to stay rooted to the Earth. We partnered with @vivobarefoot to discover what it was like to wear minimalist, eco-friendly kicks. We are born to move, and we put them to the test, walking through creeks, climbing rocks and getting them as dirty as we could. Our feet aren’t meant to be in shoes, and when our toes are free, we can strengthen our muscles, improve our balance and prevent injuries from happening. These shoes helped us remember to connect more to the natural world, and we found ourselves taking them off more than the traditional shoes we hike with. These shoes in particular (the Primus Lites) are created from PET plastic bottles, recycled into a durable yarn that’s both lightweight and breathable for the trail while also walking in urban places. We appreciate @vivobarefoot’s sustainability mission. By 2020, their goal is to use 90% sustainable materials across all their products. And by 2021, they plan to be 100%. We look forward to following along to see how they create more shoes that have zero impact on the planet. #vivobarefoot #livebarefoot #ad https://www.instagram.com/p/B2DEu5wnetW/?igshid=1b0aippud3s6c
