Today on Lunchtime with my Gear VR I am taking a look at the Fox Sports VR app. This was a really cool way to experience some of the highlights from Superbowl LI. Livelike and Fox Sports have put together an awesome app that incorporates a beautiful Skybox environment and gives the viewer a host of stats and highlights to choose from. The video playback is still a bit choppy but I feel this is mostly to do with the poor WiFi I have in my office where I make these recordings. I'm pretty sure that if I was on a strong and fast WiFi signal the videos would have had a much smoother playback! All I can say is that if you are a sports fan and have a Gear VR you owe it to yourself to check out this app... This is truly a glimpse at the future of live sports broadcasting in VR. Here's hoping that next year we get to watch the full game like this!
