@ronja.reads ALL THE WORLD written by Liz Garton Scanlon and illustrated by @marlafrazee This beautiful read-out-loud picture book was first published by @beachlanebooks in 2009 and we came across it when checking out the past Caldecott Honor books. With its rythmic language and rich atmospheric illustrations it's fast become a firm favourite in our house. Every month that Ronja grows she finds new points of interest in this book and familiar words married to pictures confirming her understanding of the world. And it is covering All The World... noises, places, people and feelings. We begun reading to Ronja soon after she was born and do several times a day. Now she's nearly eighteen months old she speaks around 300 words ( roughly counted) and it is books like this and the repetition of the familiar sounds and images that I credit so much with helping her along the way and getting her and us excited about playing with language and sounds.
