Like the trainer moving through the slowly closing restaurant, the night was lazy. While his silent enjoyment of the culinary arts surprised the people he would share such a passionate hobby with and calm the nerves brought into his system by a stressful few hours beforehand, there was absolutely not enough energy left in him to cook a meal in an empty apartment.
With high hopes eager to enjoy the takeaway meal on a cold night, the man stands around like a lost puppy. Fingers fiddling with the cords hanging loose around his neck that kept the hood zipped to his oval face, feet shifting nervously, his eyes moved across the establishment; overall uncomfortable as he waited for the working older woman behind the counter to finish sifting through the change he’d passed onto her, in exchange for the boxed and bagged dish delivered straight from the kitchen.
“You’re short ₩2610 again, Lee Jaehyun.” She comments, her voice accompanied by the music that played throughout the business, keys shooting notes into the air. Her attention seemed elsewhere as she waited for the customer to pull the small missing sum from his pockets, she was scowling across the room at the person controlling the music, at the girl with the piano, who’d picked up the pace of what she composed. “You aren’t trying to cheat me, are you?”
His head shook, whining at the woman he’d bought dinner from before. “Ajumma--- I would never.” Abandoned by the company of the piano’s ballad, the woman’s attention returned to Jaehyun, accepting the coins he’d pulled from careless pockets. “Aigoo. Get out of here before I pity you, you wicked boy.” Grateful, he took the food into hand and turned heel, a bow thanking the woman before he headed for the door.
