silence of the lambs and red dragon never showed gratuitous gore or used murder for shock value but this show goes out of its way to describe them in detail, show them in detail, show the body and organs in several lingering shots at a time. one lets you fill in the gaps and feel the weight of the tragedy as the movie focuses on making the victims sympathetic, almost sparing them some dignity in restraining the amount of bloodshed, lets you see how disturbed and determined the people trying to stop it are.... and the other is like if a post-saw-3 saw movie took itself WAYYYY too seriously and thought it was artsy. it's like fucking csi or some stupid shit
