man oh man if I ever had the energy and skill to animate...“Everybody’s Fool“ by Evanescence amv starring miriam and a disillusioned lyn
That thing you wrote with Banni and Rrenne was SUPER good! Though I saw you said you had lots of angsty prompts and thought if you want you might like a cheerful one, so if you would like a nice happy one how about Bliss 14 because that one sounds really sweet!
hi thank you!!! this got kinda long because I threw around a few ideas but hopefully this one came out alright! For a little context it’s the modern/human AU @bird-bureau and I have, featuring her boy Llynnel c:
_____
14. “I’m really happy that you’re here with me.”
Lynnel knew it would rain well before the sky darkened; the ache in his right knee never lied. But to call it a rainy day didn't do it justice. The strength of the storm made it feel like you were being bombarded with bricks, and the wind's howling was deafening. There would be no leaving the house today.
He made himself some tea and settled into his desk-chair with the intention of working through some papers, but found it hard to focus - his mind kept wandering to Matias. He had been away for three days now, and Lyn hoped that wherever he was, he was warm and dry and safe. Even if it had been a light sprinkle, the man hated rain, and a downpour like this would be agony. It made him wonder again where he went; he never said, and the only clues he had were the occasional trinkets he brought home, which were always impossible to source.
After realizing he'd been rereading the same sentence for several minutes, he made himself put aside the papers and leaned back in the chair with a quiet groan. So much for finishing these early. It wouldn't do to spend the rest of the day worrying, though.
Lyn was taking his first sip from his mug (the tea, as these things go, had already cooled to tepid by now) when an unexpected knock sounded at the door in a familiar heavy-handed thump. Not Matias as he hoped - he always slipped in unannounced anyways - but Jaspen. The sharp voice confirmed his guess as she called out (only barely muffled by the heavy wood door and deafening rain), "Let me in; I'm drenched!"
"A minute," he called back, stretching with a wince before reaching for his cane and rising from the creaky chair.
When he opened the door, he was surprised to find her carrying a couple of cardboard boxes, triple-bagged to keep them (mostly) safe from the rain. Huh. It took him a second to realize with chagrin that he was blocking the doorway, and he stepped aside with a brief apology. She didn't spare a second in entering the house. Once in, she set down the bundles on the coffee table with a thud only slightly muffled by the bags before collapsing on the couch with a relieved sigh. He tried to ignore her leaving her wet shoes on; it wouldn't be the first time. "What's..." he gestured vaguely at the mystery boxes after settling down in one of the plush chairs across from the couch.
"Lunch. Dinner. Don't know what time it is with the sky that black." she pushed back soaked bangs from her forehead and added, "Couple movies too. Seems like a good day for it. Or night."
"Oh. That's...thank you." A smile - a genuine one - softened his face. He wasn't sure if it was coincidence or if she had a 6th sense, but either way, this was exactly what he needed. "What are we watching?"
"I picked out a few. Wasn't sure if it's to scary for horror flicks in this weather." He made a face, and she just laughed. "Alright then, tough guy. Werewolves, zombies, or existential dread?" "Am I guessing or choosing?"
"Guessing."
"Werewolves then."
"Wrong! It's all three. Some campy film a friend of a friend made. Get over here." She pat the space next to her on the couch, then reached for one of the bagged boxes. "I'll get it set up."
"Jaspen?"
She paused to look up at him, uncertainty briefly flashing across her face. "Yeah?"
“I’m really happy that you’re here with me.”
She snorted and rolled her eyes, but a previously hidden tension fell from her shoulders. "Yeah, yeah, sap. I said get over here."
