If you wish to know more, her simplified story essentially is:
Pre LobCorp, Ryn worked as a fixer at the Seven Association where she met Willow (also referred to as 🌸). The two of them became very close friends, and were commonly partnered together on their missions because of their synergy (Ryn was good at gathering the clues of a case into a set 'timeline', and Willow was great at determining the final culprit).
Something about Willow seemed to pull Ryn right in, and she developed feelings for her over the years they worked together. She held them back because I'd imagine she didn't want to ruin their relationship, and pushed them down because she did Not want to deal with that.
Willow was a very outgoing and flirtatious person to most people so Ryn couldn't tell if she was acting simply playful or genuine towards her. Whether or not her crush would've been requited is something I like to keep hidden because I don't want to tell this part of the story through an omniscient lens if that makes sense? I want to show the Seven Association period only through Ryn's eyes, so if she didn't know then we don't either.
Regardless, they had a very deep bond that I find hard to explain lol.
Oh no! Nobody can be happy. Tragedy strikes and during one of their post-contract management missions, Ryn turned away to note something down, leaving Willow to be quietly ambushed. Even though Ryn was able to fend off the attackers, she saw Willow lowkenuinely die in front of her.
They never told Willow their feelings, and on top of that considers themself responsible for not saving her in time (Ryn I'm afraid you wouldn't have been much help anyway if you had the right equipment anyway 💀)
After all that, Ryn fucking loses it and this kickstarts their eventual decision to change jobs. Oh my god every day I go to work and I am reminded of her and how I couldn't save her and all the things I never told her etc. Joyous time for them. Time to go to the torture facility (lobcorp)
Safe to say she doesn't cope overly well but I can go into that in another post if needed. I would just need to put stuff under a cut/trigger tag everything lol. Her early days at LobCorp weren't any better lmao #when ur fuckass manager keeps assigning you to bloodbath because you produce 'good results' wtf is this bullshit.

I was replaying chapter 1 for the anniversary yesterday but I forgot I modded the music so that field of hopes and dreams was replaced with SiIvaGunner's rip which mixes it up with mask (yes the one by dream) and I was so fucking mad bc I didn't want to go back in and mod it back to the original so I just kept playing but it was so painful istg
I had also kept the mod that replaced chaos king with the fingers in his ass version and vs lancer with another SiIvaGunner rip (this time it used vs lancer's instruments for gas gas gas) but those were okay but fucking. Mask.
