Ah, the tavern. A welcome retreat for weary travellers. You've got the thieves in the back, maidens serving beer and meat, the tavern owner tossing out drunken vagrants with his bare hands...

And right up against the wall, was a familiar team. Bar one.

Zion, who's chin was dripping mead like a busted faucet: looked up and around.

"Where's the Elf?" The others looked around. Celtic, their brave leader, took a bite of the juicy lamb shank he'd ordered. Once he'd swallowed, he addressed Zion. "He'd purchased some clothes from the market. He's trying them on in his room."

As if on cue, Raloris stepped into the Tavern proper. Wearing his new clothes. He seemed very proud of himself. Very proud. He sat down with a silly little grin.

Sylvester grinned too. "You look good! Very nice. Approved." Raloris nodded. "I know. That old cape was way too bright. And those shoes were uncomfortable."

"You're still wearing heels." Zion cut in.

"I wear what I please. You're just jealous because you cannot pull it off." Raloris snapped. Met with a soft hand under the table, Celtic.

"I like it. And I do agree, the... colours of your last set were... rather vibrant..." Celtic nodded in approval. "But it doesn't matter what we think. If you like it, then that's what matters."

"... Damn you for being so understanding..." Raloris grumbled, adjusting his scarf. Celtic noticed... and noticed something else... a hand stitched, almost invisible stitch at the end of the scarf... he squinted. C+R

That's the kind of thing you'd see teen-agers carve into a tree... Cute. So very... Un-Raloris.

How was he still surprising him?

Raloris caught the stare and huffed, looking away.

Caught.

He raised a hand for a barmaid, ordered some mead. His favourite. "What're you all staring at." He growled, Vince flinched. "Hey, Ral... let's get some air." Celtic said, his tone one that stopped Raloris in his tracks. "Tch. Fine, if you require protection from the winds, oh great leader."

The two left, Celtic shooting the others a look that said "Give me a moment."

They nodded and Celtic followed him out.

"Focus on the air... the soft breeze. And breathe, Peppermint."

Raloris scoffed.

"I don't know why we continue with these silly exercises. They won't fix me. Nothing will." He snapped. "Ah, no. None of that. Breathe. We do this so you don't accidentally say or do something to injure yourself or someone else."

Celtic reprimanded. Moving a hand to Raloris' shoulder.

"Besides... you like me. And before you deny it... I saw you stitched C+R into the edge of your scarf."

Raloris flinched like a scared cat. He quickly covered up his scarf. Which was met with a chuckle.

"Don't Hide... it's cute."

"I am NOT cute! I'm a fierce- dangerous warrior! And i-"

Raloris was silenced once more, by Celtic... kissing him. Raloris didn't fight. This... was one thing that grounded him immediately. He moved a hand to Celtic's hair... feeling the soft strands between his fingers... And whined when Celtic pulled away.

"It is cute... and it can also be something... that reminds you that I'm with you all the time."

Celtic rummaged through his bag, and pulled out his aftershave, spraying it onto Raloris' scarf.

"Whenever... you feel a slip, remember... I'm there. And smell your scarf. I'm there. And I always will be." He whispers into the Elf's ear...

"Sunshine... Why do you do this for me...?

"Because I care. And I love you."

"Get married already!" Sylvester yelled from the window..

"Go back inside Sylv." Celtic snapped.

"assholes, I swear..." Celtic sighed, rubbing the bridge between his eyes... Raloris laughed.

"Welcome to motherhood, Sunshine."
